Nobody wakes up thinking today is the day they do CPR. 😄

But here we are at Ipswich Grammar School, and these three are absolutely giving it everything.

On Paper, You're Covered. Are the right staff in the classroom when it counts?

Most schools can point to a list of trained staff. Certificates on file, numbers that look right, boxes ticked. But compliance on paper and real coverage in the room are two very different things.

Here's the gap we see most often.
Teacher aides are trained, but they work shorter hours and aren't always in the classroom. The school nurse is listed as a first aid officer, but they're one person covering an entire school. When a child starts choking or goes into anaphylactic shock, that emergency is happening right now, in that classroom, with whoever is standing there.
That person is the Teacher.

We also see schools that are CPR compliant but have only a small number of staff holding a current first aid certificate. The ratios look fine on a spreadsheet. But ratios only work if the right people are actually present.

It's easy to get caught up in numbers and budget when you're managing a school. We understand that. But first aid isn't a line item. It's the difference between a good outcome and one nobody wants to think about.

This is Lucy. And we appreciate her more than she knows. ❤️
Lucy is the training organiser at her school and if you have ever tried to coordinate a full staff training day you already know what that involves.
Chasing confirmations. Rounding people up. Answering the same three questions twelve times. Making sure everyone is in the right place at the right time.

Lucy does all of that and then shows up on the day and helps us check in staff with a smile. She makes our job easier and her school's training day run smoother, and that is not a small thing.

The truth is every successful training day has a Lucy behind it. The person who quietly holds it all together so everyone else can just show up and learn.

The good news? Refreshing takes 60 minutes face to face. Do the theory at home the night before, book in to one of our 6 SEQ locations, you will find out trainers warm and welcoming and you will walk away confident with your skills.
