💥 breastmilk changes across the day, month and years to suit your baby perfectly (different hormones, ratios of fat, protein and carbs, etc)
🤍 there's cross communication between your baby's mouth and your milk to deliver extra immune cells and antibodies if an illness is detected
🤷‍♀️ each side has it's own individual supply and demand
💫 mature milk can take on average 3-5 days to "come in" but your colostrum is still milk!

It's world breastfeeding week! Now my third in a row actively feeding 🫢

There's so much, and often too much, information about breastfeeding online and everyone's journey with it looks a little different. Even between my two children (crazy I have a second now), there's differences. I haven't had a difficult journey and I'm very happy that's gone well for me, but it doesn't mean it's easy for everyone. I'll be so excited when I can add this additional support to my services one day and help more families make informed decisions for their family.

Breastfeeding is normal, natural, but not always easy. Each and every one of those journeys deserves to be celebrated 🥳 all week!!

Pregnancy immune support is a lot more food based!! And that's so ok, this is pretty much the same that is appropriate for children (at their dose range) too.

And... it's working, of course, and the cold symptoms have barely moved past night congestion 🤞

This would not necessarily be my recommendation for everyone but you can adopt the fruit and marinated garlic at your will 🤔

A collection of my pieces from Maternity Clothing • Angel Maternity AUS (kindly gifted). Everything is so soft and I purposefully picked pieces I could use in the last few months of pregnancy and then into postpartum to make getting dressed a little bit easier...

What piece would you have picked?

Feel confident, comfortable, and connected with your baby. A babywearing consultation helps you find the right carrier, achieve a safe fit, and make babywearing work for your unique lifestyle. Book your consultation today and carry with confidence 🤍

It's an insanely good tool to have as a parent, helping with coregulation, naps on the go, reducing crying, building connection, and ofc giving you your hands back!! 👌

The almost full freezer stash has been coming in handy already as third trimester energy plummets!

We've got with a mix of uncooked and cooked items, and thank goodness for a pressure cooker. Definitely need to do a few more bean options and grab some frozen veggies to keep meals rounded but this takes a lot of pressure off mentally creating meals and at least halves the prep time.

Snacks are tba as I haven't done those yet really. Still 2 months to go!

Love doing this for myself as I remember having literally no f***s to give regarding food postpartum but needing nutrient dense quick options. (Will also bulk prep things like breakfast muffins and mini quiche closer to the date too).

For my postpartum doula clients, I know having at least one meal a week taken care of was so helpful so that's where all our energy is going.
🤭 one more month of doula support and then I'll be on my partial mat leave 🫶
