📢 Important Update Regarding Medicare Consultation Requirements

Dear East Clinic patients,

Medicare has recently introduced changes to the guidelines and requirements for all consultations, including both telephone and face-to-face appointments.

📞 Telephone Consultations
For telephone consultations, patients will receive a message from HotDoc following their appointment.

If your consultation is being bulk billed, you will need to follow the prompts in the HotDoc message and provide your consent to allow the consultation to be processed as a bulk billed service.

If consent is not provided, Medicare guidelines require that the consultation cannot be bulk billed and may need to be privately billed.

🏥 Face-to-Face Consultations
For in-person appointments where your consultation is being bulk billed, you will be required to sign a consent form at reception before leaving the clinic.

These changes are part of updated Medicare requirements, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we continue to provide quality healthcare to our patients.

While we have recently introduced payment features through HotDoc, we have temporarily disabled this function as a precaution.

Please be reassured that if you have already entered your card details via the official HotDoc app, your information remains secure and safe. However, if you receive any emails or messages asking you to re-enter your payment details, please do not respond or provide any information.
