Reminder! The new emergency alert system AusAlert is being tested today, Monday 27 July.

If you have a mobile phone, tablet or smart watch, you may receive a test alert. Your device will:
📳 vibrate
🔊 make a loud siren sound for about 10 seconds.

If loud or unexpected sounds could be distressing for you or someone you support, you may want to:
📴 turn your device off, or
📵 switch it to aeroplane mode

Do this before the test starts in your area, and leave your device off for at least one hour.

Test times
🕛️ 12:00 pm AWST – Western Australia
🕧️ 1:30 pm ACST – South Australia and Northern Territory
🕑️ 2:00 pm AEST – Queensland, New South Wales, ACT, Victoria and Tasmania

The AusAlert website has Easy Read information, information for people who are d/Deaf, blind and low vision and other resources. You can also hear what the alert will sound like before the test.
