Communication is part of how we connect with the people and environments around us every day.

That might look like expressing needs and ideas, participating in conversations, building relationships, engaging at school or work, or feeling understood more comfortably and confidently in different settings.

Speech therapy support can look different for everyone.

For some people, it may involve speech clarity or language development. For others, it might include social communication, alternative ways to communicate, or strategies that support confidence and participation in everyday interactions.

Our focus is on supporting each person to communicate in ways that are meaningful to them and their everyday life.

Things we keep meaning to do:

☐ Clean out the garage

☐ Organise the spare room

☐ Book that GP appointment

One of these is probably more important than the others.

This Men's Health Week, the theme is simple: See Your GP.

A GP can help you stay on top of your health, address concerns early, and connect you with the right support when needed.

If booking an appointment has been sitting on your to-do list for a while, now might be the time to tick it off.

Not all children play the same way… and that’s okay.

Before children learn to truly play with others, they move through a series of stages, from playing alone, to watching, to playing side by side, and eventually working together.

You might notice your child:
• prefers to play on their own
• watches others but doesn’t join in
• plays next to other children, not with them
• finds group play overwhelming

These are all part of development.

But if play is feeling tricky or stressful for your child, it might mean they need a bit more support building those skills.

With the right support, play can become something your child feels confident and comfortable in.

Eating and drinking are part of everyday life, social moments, family meals, celebrations.

For people living with dysphagia (swallowing difficulties), these moments can become stressful, uncomfortable, or even unsafe.

Today is Swallowing Awareness Day, helping raise awareness of the challenges many people face when swallowing becomes difficult.

Because sometimes the difference between dysphagia and dysphasia really matters.

Proud moment for our team as CEO and Occupational Therapist Javier Bara joins the expert panel at the upcoming Healthy Ageing Forum: Staying in the Driver’s Seat.

The session explores how we can better support older adults to remain safe, confident, and independent drivers for longer, while planning ahead for future mobility needs.

A great opportunity for community members, families, and professionals to learn, ask questions, and share experiences around staying mobile and independent.
