Detachement is Spiritual BUT Isolation is not
A lot of people who feel overwhelmed or emotionally saturated end up gravitating toward monkhood, sage-hood, or “hermit” style practices, not because they’re seeking enlightenment, but because they’re seeking escape from life's heavy burdens.
Somewhere along the way, the line between healthy detachment (asserting boundaries) and emotional withdrawal (escapism) got blurred.
But here’s what they remain unaware of: Without other people, there is no mirroring. Without mirroring, there is no self‑awareness. And, yes, introversion and solitude are healthy but not when they morph into isolation and long-term withdrawal. There is a fine line between the two.
How would you know you still carry anger if nothing ever provokes it?
How would you know you carry pride if nothing ever challenges it?
How would you know where you’re still wounded if nothing ever touches the wound?
Isolation can feel peaceful, but long term isolation often removes the very reflections that show us where healing is needed. Escapism can look spiritual, but it bypasses the emotional body entirely. It also bypasses the mental layers that remain unrefined without society and people 'pushing our buttons' like they say.
Real growth happens in the gentle friction of connection. It reveals, softens, and transforms us from emotionally void people to empathic and compassionate people, which is absolutely needed for spiritual integration.
A cold person can never truly spiritually integrate and without the face of another we cannot relate to true feelings.
For anyone who’s been stuck in isolation and wants to move into a more grounded, supported, emotionally honest space… I’ve created something that might help.
It’s based on 15+ years of my own path that evolved from escapism to total loss, to rebuilding, to alignment and harmonic resonance.
If you feel called to grow without bypassing, without disappearing into the woods, and without abandoning your life and self… you’re welcome to message me and I’ll share more.
