Ever walked past our front door and wondered… what actually happens in there? 👀

From the outside, you see Jimboomba Chiropractic.

Step through the door and it might look a little different to the chiropractic clinic you imagined.

No long clinical corridors.
No rows of closed treatment-room doors.
No cold, sterile feeling.

Instead, you’ll find a bright, relaxed space filled with timber, greenery, families and an open-plan adjusting area right at the heart of the practice. 🌿

And that open space is very intentional.

We’ve always wanted chiropractic to feel like a normal, positive part of looking after yourself — not something that only happens behind a closed door when you’re injured.

Our open-plan adjusting area creates a sense of community and familiarity. You can see how chiropractic care works before it’s your turn, kids can watch Mum or Dad get adjusted, and new patients often find that seeing the relaxed environment takes away some of the uncertainty about their first adjustment.

It also allows our chiropractors to move efficiently between patients while still taking the time to listen, check, adjust and provide individual care.

Of course, privacy still matters. We have a private consultation room for conversations, examinations and anything that needs to be discussed away from the adjusting area.

You’ll also notice a kids’ corner, plenty of plants, warm timber, educational spaces and probably a few familiar Jimboomba faces.

Because after more than just creating a clinic, we wanted to create a place where people feel comfortable walking through the door — whether they’re 8 weeks old, 38, or 88.

So if you’ve driven past, walked past or seen our sign and thought…

“I wonder what it looks like inside?”

Here you go. 👋🌿

So… what does your chiropractor actually do between the morning and afternoon shift? 😂

I get asked this more often than you’d think.

And no… I don’t just sit in a dark room waiting for the next patient to arrive. 😂

A pretty typical break between shifts at Jimboomba Chiropractic looks something like this…

🏋️ 1. Get a strength session in.
I spend a lot of my working week talking about movement, strength and looking after your body — so I try to practise what I preach.

🍌 2. Find some fuel.
Today’s highly sophisticated nutritional intervention: a banana protein smoothie. 😂

☀️ 3. Get outside for a bit.
One of the perks of working right here in Jimboomba. A little Queensland sunshine before heading back inside does wonders.

🩻 4. Then it’s back to work.
Reviewing X-rays, going through patient cases, preparing for the afternoon and making sure I know exactly what we’re working on when you walk through the door.

Then before I know it…

🌿 The appointment book opens again and the afternoon begins.

I’ve been part of the Jimboomba community for a long time now, and one of my favourite things about practising here is that patients rarely stay “just patients”.

You get to know the families.
The kids grow up.
People tell you what’s happening at work.
Who won on the weekend.
What they’re building.
Where they’re travelling.
And occasionally what they think I should be doing with my own life. 😂

That’s what I love about being a local chiropractor.

So Jimboomba… now you know what happens between shifts.

My question for you:

👇 What did you think I did all afternoon? 😂

🧠 What does the research say?

When it comes to low back pain, the evidence continues to support a conservative, hands-on approach.

A systematic review of 26 clinical trials found that spinal manipulation provided statistically significant improvements in pain and function for people with acute low back pain.

At Jimboomba Chiropractic, our goal isn't just to help you hurt less—it's to help you move better, function better, and get back to doing the things you love.

Whether you're dealing with a recent back injury, stiffness, or recurring discomfort, we'd love to help you discover if chiropractic care is right for you.

A simple towel can make a big difference. 🙌

Placing a rolled towel under the base of your neck and allowing your head to gently relax back can help restore your neck’s natural curve, reduce muscle tension, and improve your posture over time.

When your neck is in a better position, it can reduce strain on the muscles and joints that often contribute to headaches, neck pain, shoulder tension, and even upper back discomfort.

💡 Even start with just 1–2 minutes and gradually build up as it becomes comfortable.

⚠️ This exercise isn’t suitable for everyone. If it causes pain, dizziness, numbness, or tingling, stop and speak with your chiropractor before continuing.

Small daily habits can create lasting changes.

🧠 What does the word “essential” actually mean?

An essential nutrient isn’t simply something that’s “good for you.”

It means your body cannot make enough of it on its own. You must obtain it through your diet, sunlight or supplementation.

Two of the most important essential nutrients are Vitamin D and Omega-3 fatty acids.

☀️ Vitamin D supports:
✔ Healthy immune function
✔ Strong bones and muscles
✔ Nervous system function
✔ Normal inflammatory responses
✔ Long-term wellbeing

🐟 Omega-3 supports:
✔ Brain health and mental clarity
✔ Heart health
✔ Joint comfort and mobility
✔ Healthy mood
✔ Eye health
✔ Healthy development throughout life

Unfortunately, modern lifestyles mean many Australians are not getting enough of either.

More time indoors.
More processed foods.
Less sunlight.
Less oily fish.

Small deficiencies today can become bigger problems over time.

At Jimboomba Chiropractic, we believe that great health isn’t about chasing symptoms—it’s about building strong foundations.

That’s why we’ve created our new Patient Education Series, making it simple to understand the science behind chiropractic care, essential nutrition and helping your body function at its best.

📖 Pick up your FREE patient education handouts next time you’re in the clinic.

Current editions include:
• The Power of Essential Nutrients
• Vitamin D – The Missing Ingredient
• Omega-3 – The Essential Oil

More are coming soon, including X-rays, Denneroll, posture, subluxation and nervous system health.

Healing isn’t always linear… and that’s okay. 🌿

One of the biggest reasons people give up on their health goals is because they expect healing to happen in a straight line.

The reality?

You’ll have good days.
You’ll have tougher days.
You may even wonder if you’re going backwards.

But healing is rarely measured by how you feel today.

It’s measured by the direction you’re heading over weeks and months.

Think about a cut on your hand. You don’t have to remind it to heal. Your body already knows what to do. Our role is to help remove interference and create the best environment for your body to do what it was designed to do.

As you swipe through these slides, remember these three principles:

✔️ Healing takes time.
✔️ Symptoms don’t always tell the whole story.
✔️ Consistency creates lasting results.

If you’ve ever felt discouraged because your progress wasn’t perfect, this is your reminder…

Don’t judge your healing by today’s pain. Judge it by where you are compared with a month ago.

Your body is incredibly intelligent.
Give it time.
Give it consistency.
Give it the opportunity to adapt.

We’re here to help guide that journey.

Helping your body heal from the inside out.

The greatest doctor you’ll ever meet is the one God placed inside you.

Think about it…

When you cut your skin, it heals.
When you break a bone, it repairs.
When you’re exposed to a virus, your immune system responds.

No one has to remind your body what to do.

It was designed that way.

I believe we were created with an extraordinary ability to adapt, regulate, repair and heal. Every second of every day, your body is working for you in ways you’ll never even notice.

So where does chiropractic fit into that?

Not because chiropractors heal people.

We don’t.

Our role is to help support healthy spinal function and nervous system communication, creating the best possible conditions for your body to express the incredible potential it was designed with.

That’s why I don’t just care whether you’re out of pain.

I care how well you’re functioning.

Because when your body functions well, you have the opportunity to live the life you were created to live.

This is why I love what I do.

I’d love to know your thoughts.

Do you believe the body is designed to heal, or is healing something that has to be given from the outside?

04/07/2026

A personal post from Dr Theo

My Philosophy

I believe that life is intelligently designed by God. The same Creator who formed the human body also gave it an extraordinary capacity to adapt, regulate, repair and heal. Every heartbeat, every breath, every cell that renews itself and every wound that heals reminds me that health is not something we manufacture—it is something already woven into our design.

I believe our bodies were created with purpose. While we are all shaped by our genetics and life experiences, I do not believe we are merely products of them. Our environment, our choices, our relationships, our thoughts, our movement, our nutrition, our rest and our faith all influence how we express the incredible potential that already exists within us.

To me, disease is often not the absence of health but the consequence of the body’s continual effort to adapt to physical, chemical and emotional stresses. Sometimes those adaptations serve us well. Sometimes, over time, they become the very source of dysfunction and disease. Although there are circumstances where injury, degeneration or congenital conditions limit what is possible, I believe the body is always striving toward order, healing and restoration to the extent that it is able.

This belief is why I became a chiropractor.

I do not believe I heal anyone. God has already placed within the body an extraordinary capacity for healing. My role is far more humble. Through chiropractic care, I seek to improve spinal function and support the communication between the brain and body through the nervous system. By helping restore healthy movement and reducing mechanical dysfunction, I aim to create an environment in which the body can better express its God-given ability to adapt, regulate and heal.

My vision extends far beyond relieving pain. Pain is often the last expression of dysfunction, not its beginning. I believe healthcare should be about cultivating health long before sickness demands our attention. Imagine a society where children grow up understanding that every choice matters—how they move, eat, sleep, think, love, forgive and care for their bodies. Imagine if we invested as much into preserving health as we do into treating disease. I believe that kind of world would be healthier, stronger and more compassionate.

My faith teaches me that we are called to be good stewards of what God has entrusted to us. That includes our bodies. Caring for our health is not about chasing perfection or avoiding every illness. It is about honouring the gift of life, respecting the remarkable design of the human body, and creating the best possible conditions for it to function as it was created to function.

Whether someone shares my faith or not, every patient who walks through my door deserves dignity, compassion and the opportunity to express the greatest level of health their body is capable of achieving. That is the purpose that guides my practice, my profession and my life.

Pain is a terrible guide.

By the time you feel pain, the problem may have been developing for weeks, months, or even years.

Research shows that many people have significant changes on MRI without pain, while others experience severe pain with very little visible tissue damage. Pain is influenced by your nervous system, inflammation, stress, movement, sleep, previous injuries, and much more.

That’s why simply treating the pain isn’t always treating the problem.

Our job as chiropractors is to ask why.

• Why does it keep coming back?
• Why is it always on the same side?
• Why does sitting hurt, but walking helps?
• Why do headaches always start in your neck?

A thorough history, movement assessment, orthopaedic and neurological testing, and when appropriate, imaging, help us identify what may be contributing to your symptoms. From there, we create a plan focused on improving how your spine and body function—not just chasing pain.

Painkillers can reduce symptoms. Rest can settle a flare-up. But if the underlying mechanical issue isn’t addressed, it’s common for the cycle to repeat.

If pain is affecting your work, your sport, your sleep, or your family life…

Don’t just cover it up. Find the cause. Fix it properly.

Life isn’t always easy

Some days you feel on top of the world… and other days, just getting through the day takes everything you’ve got.

If that’s you today, I want you to know something…

You’re stronger than you think.

Not because life hasn’t been hard, but because you’ve already overcome things you once thought you never would. You may not feel strong right now, but the fact you’re still here, still trying, says more than you realise.

As a chiropractor, I spend my days helping people with their physical health. But I’ve learnt that behind so many sore backs, headaches and tense shoulders is a person carrying far more than anyone else can see.

Sometimes people don’t need someone to fix them. They just need someone to believe in them, to listen, and to remind them that there is hope.

If you’re struggling, please don’t keep it to yourself. Reach out to someone. A friend. A family member. A health professional. A pastor. Even send me a message if you don’t know where to start. You don’t have to face life’s challenges alone.

Keep putting one foot in front of the other. That’s enough for today.

The power that made your body is incredible. Given the right support, the right environment and a little hope, people are capable of far more than they often believe.

You’ve made it through every difficult chapter of your life so far.

I’m quietly cheering you on to make it through this one too. ❤️
