Celebrating Local Leadership & Community Impact in Rockingham
What an incredible spotlight on our very own Stephenie Fielding, following the recent Rockingham Kwinana Chamber of Commerce Business Breakfast!
The Baldivis Times captured the energy of a region on the rise — with Rockingham now home to over 164,000 residents, supporting a booming $7 billion local economy and more than 44,000 jobs. From major defence investments to hospitality growth, it’s clear our community is thriving and full of opportunity.
But the real highlight? 💙
A well-deserved recognition of Stephenie Fielding, named the City of Rockingham’s 2025 Community Citizen of the Year.
Stephenie is known to many of us at BIZLINK as a passionate and dedicated NDIS Coordinator at our Rockingham office, where she works tirelessly to support people with disability to achieve their goals and build independence. Her advocacy, compassion, and commitment to the community truly set her apart.
Adding to this amazing achievement, Stephenie recently nominated the Baldivis Times for the 2026 RKCC Mineral Resources Regional Business Awards — a reflection of her ongoing support for local voices and community connection.
We are incredibly proud of Stephenie’s community engagement and passion for people with disability.
People and partnerships are what set BIZLINK apart. Picture: Stephenie with two other participants at the Rockingham Kwinana Chamber of Commerce Business event.

🏆 FROM A $7 BILLION BOOM TO AN UNEXPECTED HONOUR: Inside Rockingham's Powerhouse Morning!

If you want to know exactly where Western Australia’s economic heart is beating loudest right now, look no further than the Kwinana corridor.

This morning, we attended the Rockingham Kwinana Chamber of Commerce’s Key Leaders in Business Breakfast, and the energy in the room made one thing absolutely undeniable: our region is expanding at an unprecedented, historic scale.

Current Trajectory 🎯
Mayor Lorna Buchan opened the morning by laying bare the staggering reality of Rockingham’s current trajectory.

We are now home to over 164,000 residents, driving a massive $7 billion local economy that secures more than 44,000 local jobs. With massive defense investments via AUKUS, the future of Westport, and a hospitality revolution reshaping our coastal lifestyle (including major progress at the Rockingham Hotel, Waikiki Hotel, Long Point Brewery, and the newly opened Fathom Brewery), Rockingham is cementingly positioned as one of the most vital economic engines in the state.

The Industrial Giants Powering WA ⭐
We received an extraordinary masterclass in large-scale infrastructure from industrial leaders Dax Foley of Birchmead and Andrew Duperouzel of Nutrien. Dax broke down the immense engineering feat behind the Alumina Industrial Park in East Rockingham, a region selected specifically because it possesses the most critical infrastructure pipeline in Western Australia.

Andrew shared that, to protect against the immense corrosive strength of industrial fertilizer, this state-of-the-art facility required an astonishing 37 kilometers of specialized timber and 1,300 truckloads of concrete to construct, creating a world-class distribution gold standard right on our doorstep.

A Deeply Emotional Surprise for the Baldivis Times ❤️
The absolute highlight of our morning was catching up with a true local hero, Stephenie Fielding. As the City of Rockingham’s 2025 Community Citizen of the Year, Stephenie is a fierce, unforgettable advocate for our region.

Today, we are incredibly proud to finally announce some massive news we have been holding onto for a little while. Stephenie has officially nominated the Baldivis Times for the prestigious 2026 RKCC Mineral Resources Regional Business Awards.

To have our daily, grassroots coverage of local stories recognized by someone of Stephenie’s profound community caliber is deeply emotional. We built this independent platform out of pure passion to give Baldivis and Rockingham a powerful, honest voice, and knowing our community believes we deserve this recognition means everything to us.

🙌 A profound thank you to Stephenie Fielding for believing in our mission, and to the Chamber for an incredible morning of leadership and connection.

Honouring Loved Ones: Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea
I had the privilege of hosting Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, a deeply personal event held in loving memory of my parents, who both lost their battle with cancer. Their courage, love, and resilience continue to inspire me every day, and this morning tea was my way of honouring their memory while supporting others facing similar challenges.
The event was made truly special thanks to the generosity and support of our local community. BIZLINK contributed a generous donation, Spearwood Florist donated a beautiful bouquet of flowers which was the main prize of the raffle. Woolworths Port Coogee (employer) provided a gift voucher which we used for morning tea treats. Heats Bakery generously gave a cash donation, and Portuguese Delights kindly contributed biscuits. We were also grateful for a cash donation from Velcare Support, who, along with Woolworths, employ many of our clients. Additionally, Blooms, Chemist in North Coogee provided gifts for a raffle, adding extra excitement and generosity to the event.
BIZLINK staff were joined by employers, clients and their families, our supportive employer, Velcare Support and staff from Ability. My colleagues were instrumental in helping set up, ensuring everything ran smoothly. Every member of our team contributed in some way, whether by preparing treats, organising, or simply offering their support, which made the morning tea truly a community effort.
This morning was a beautiful reminder of the strength, generosity, and compassion that surrounds us - Rosemarie, Support Coordinator.

Seton Catholic College Careers Expo 2026
Bec and Les represented BIZLINK at the Seton Catholic College Careers Expo 11 May 2026. This was a fantastic opportunity to connect with students and educators — and it was great to be invited to the school’s expo which brought together exhibitors including The University of Western Australia, Curtin University, The University of Notre Dame Australia , Murdoch University, Apprenticeship and Training Centre, Academic Group, BAE, Defence Industries, Shared Steps and Good Sammy's. BIZLINK was the only Inclusive Employment Australia service provider in attendance. Thanks to Seton Catholic College for this inclusive event to promote the range of services BIZLINK offers. Pictured Bec Engagement Coordinator and Les Job Search Coordinator at the BIZLINK stall. The guess the gumball was a bit of fun too 🎉🎈
