Movement doesn’t have to be intense to be meaningful.

A walk, some gentle stretching, light strength work, or simply spending more time on your feet can all be ways to include movement in your day.

The right type and amount of activity will look different for everyone, depending on factors such as health, fitness, energy levels, and individual circumstances.

Rather than focusing on doing more, it can be helpful to find movement that feels realistic, enjoyable, and sustainable for you.

Lifestyle foundations: sleep, movement and nutrition.

During peri/menopause, lifestyle factors can play an important role in overall wellbeing.

Sleep quality, regular movement and balanced nutrition may influence energy, mood, weight, stress and day-to-day functioning. These foundations can also form part of a broader management plan, depending on your individual symptoms, health history and needs.

A consultation can help explore the full picture and consider care options that may be appropriate for your circumstances.

Women aged 45–54 represent one of the most experienced, resilient and adaptable groups in today's workforce. They are often at the peak of their careers, leading teams, mentoring colleagues and driving innovation. Yet they remain one of the most overlooked groups when it comes to workplace health.

The reality is that 1 in 10 women leave their jobs because of menopause symptoms. Many more reduce their hours, turn down promotions or struggle silently, not because they lack capability, but because they lack understanding and support.

Menopause can affect sleep, concentration, confidence, memory, mood, and energy. With greater awareness, simple workplace adjustments and open conversations, women can continue to thrive, and organisations can retain invaluable knowledge, leadership and experience.

Supporting menopause in the workplace isn't about giving special treatment—it's about creating an environment where talented people can perform at their best.

It's time we stopped losing exceptional women from our workforce because of a natural life transition.

We can, and we must, do better.

Sleep, brain fog and mood changes can be common concerns during peri/menopause, but they can also be influenced by many other factors.

Hormonal changes may play a role, alongside sleep quality, stress, nutrition, medical history, mental health, medications and lifestyle factors.

That’s why a thorough consultation can be helpful. Looking at the full picture may assist in understanding what could be contributing to your symptoms and what management options may be appropriate for you.

At Pranavi Women’s Health, Dr Usha provides individualised, evidence-based care for women navigating peri/menopause and women’s health concerns.

🥗 Eat regular, balanced meals
🧘‍♀️ Practise yoga
🌿 Make time for meditation or mindfulness
🤝 Stay connected with supportive people and your community

You do not need to do everything perfectly. Start with one manageable habit and build from there.
