About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Cook to join our kitchen team in our residential aged care facility. The role focuses on preparing nutritious, high-quality meals that meet residents’ individual dietary and cultural needs.
Key Duties
• Prepare and cook meals in accordance with approved menus
• Cater for special dietary requirements including texture-modified diets, allergies, and medical needs
• Maintain food safety, hygiene, and infection control standards
• Assist with menu planning and stock rotation
• Ensure kitchen cleanliness and safe food handling practices
• Work collaboratively with kitchen and care staff
Skills and Experience
• Previous experience as a Cook (aged care, healthcare, or commercial kitchen experience preferred)
• Knowledge of food safety standards
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good time management and organisational skills
• Understanding of dietary needs in aged care (desirable)
Requirements
• Food Safety Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
• National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and public holidays
