Not quite clear, Skye's but great company!
Our men's group had a great day out. We loaded up the bus and headed to the Temora Aviation Museum, for a morning of exploring vintage aircraft, sharing old stories, and talking shop about classic engines and aviation history.
After working up an appetite walking the hangar floor, we headed down to the local hotel for a hearty pub meal and an ale, wine or cold drink, plenty of laughs and mateship.
Days like this are what it's all about. Staying connected, embracing the community and mateship. A big thank you to the Temora Aviation Museum volunteers and the Temora hotel for making us so welcome. โœˆ๏ธ๐Ÿ›ฉ

Another beautiful week of leisurely pursuits with our Cooinda Court family.
Good times, good friends, good fun and good memories.
Making the most of the glorious sunshine with morning tea and friendship, a shopping trip and coffee date down town, and dressing in our favourite flanney or comfortable clothes for ' Flanno for a farmer day' to raise funds for our farmers mental health support services.
Lyn B's & Jo's good friend and hobby farmer Robyn from Stockinbingal and brother David from Tumut dropped in to entertain for the afternoon. Our brave Lyn took centre stage to accompany the singers in dance & song and gave a heart-warming speech and everyone enjoyed good old toe tapping classic Aussie tunes, almost others. And it that wasn't enough Marg S & Lyn B's week got a whole lot sweeter with them both winning correct guess and a huge jar of lollies each to share with friends. In the correct guess at the Community Connections exhibition at the Junee RSL. ' Winners are Grinners'.

Dawnโ€™s craft group at Cooinda Court was in full swing today, with glue flying, scissors snipping and creativity running wild! ๐ŸŽจโœ‚๏ธ There was plenty of laughter, a little friendly advice, and possibly more craft supplies on the floor than on the tables. Under Dawnโ€™s watchful eye, everyone created a masterpiece โค๏ธ

Today we celebrated history
We take this opportunity to thank Mrs Margaret Hamilton

Margaret and her husband Robert lived at โ€œRosevaleโ€ Illabo, a historic Hamilton family property. Wilma Kanaley was a sister to Robert Hamilton.
Margaret, a school teacher by profession joined many community groups at Eurongilly, Illabo and Junee. Many younger people remember Margaret as their teacher.

Margaret become a councillor with the Junee Shire Council with an aim of ensuring country people were heard by Council.

After some preliminary discussions between interested persons, junee Shire Council and the Masonic Lodge a public meeting was called to establish what became known as Junee Hostel for the Aged Inc. Margaret Hamilton accepted to position of Chairman of the new committee with Bob Smith as secretary. The was a committee of 12 persons.

Margaret worked with all the interested persons to plan and move forward with the proposed Hostel initially planned for 12 beds with room to expand.

I recall that Hostels were new in this area. One visit we made was to Tumbarumba to look at their new Hostel to gauge what we needed to build in Junee. These visits and others helped with the planning. The RFBI or to some just referred to as the Masonic Lodge provided guidance, a grant, and the services of their planners to draw up plans for what has become Cooinda Court.

Margaret was a champion working with all aspects of the planning. Especially the fundraising. She was everywhere promoting the cause. The catering at the Junee Show, the catering at farm clearing sales, the street stalls, the raffles, the wheelchair derby with 2 local personalities in Lorne Street.

Most of us remember the the fundraising barometer mounted on the Railway Fence, the watching Colin Kanaley move the counter up as the funds grew.

Margaret has retained an interest in Cooinda for almost 40 years and regularly attends events when possible.

Margaret and Robert retired to The Grange in Wagga with their son Andrew taking over their farming pursuits. Interesting that there are 4 former Junee households currently living at the Grange

Thank you
Margaret Hill for this information and presenting on behalf of our Board of Directors and Management

What a lovely morning out! Our residents had a nice time visiting the Community Connections Exhibition at the Junee RSL .
We enjoyed a lovely morning tea, caught up with familiar faces, and took in some inspiring displays. Days like this remind us how special our local Junee Community is and how important it is to stay connected.
A big thank you to the organisers for coming over to our table to invite us and make us feel so welcome.
