Völva - Core Shamanic Practices

Völva is a female Shaman in Old Norse culture, religion, and mythology. The word Völva comes from the Old Norse word “vǫlr” which means “wand.” Völva literally translates to “of a wand” and culturally translates to “wand carrier.”

"Shamans are often called “seers” or “people who know” in their tribal languages because they are involved in a system of knowledge based on firsthand experience. Shamanism is not a belief system. My journey into the shamanic realms started in 2018 with Sharon Bolt co-founder and director of a shamanic mystery school - Shamanic Energy Training based in Australia where I’ve experienced and learned how to journey through spirit realms with the medicine of the Shamanic Drum.

Shamanic journeying has its methodology and it's aimed at meeting our individual spirit helpers in non-ordinary reality. Shamanic practitioners utilize "journeys" in restoring spiritual power and health, applying them in contemporary daily life to help heal oneself, others, and the Planet.

I’ve learned how to pay attention to “omens”. I’ve been journeying to the spirits of specific location asking for guidance. I’ve merged with various animals to hear their observation and journeyed to the celestial bodies that offered me their gifts. By learning from the plants and animals, from the rocks and mountains, from the winds and waters, and from the sun, moon, and stars, ancient shamans helped their peoples live in harmony with the universe.

I am equipped for divination journeys (shamanic diagnosis) using various shamanic divination techniques (ecstatic and inductive). I practice drum divination, sound divination, quartz crystal divination, dream divination, stone divination and divination using my own casting set made from the objects collected from Nature.

24th journey 13.7.2019. - “Shamanism and the spirits of nature” advanced course

NOTE: For those who wish to learn methodology of shamanic journeys I recommend reading Michael Harner’s book “Cave and Cosmos: Shamanic Encounters with Another Reality.”

Mission: A journey with a Les waterfall near Tejakula north Bali coastal side Tejakula in non-ordinary reality to find out what are the aspects and a meaning of the waterfall that I visited.

Middle World Journey:

A bunch of animals accompanied me. A waterfall confirmed it washed me with power but when I merged with it, it asked me to make a wish. I said I want to drink nectar of life and live in tuned with my higher self. Waterfall granted me that wish because I allowed it to wash me with power in a middle world.

Lower World Journey:

I travelled to the Lower World through the waterfall and arrived couple of levels down into a deep jungle where I saw a massive stone statue of an elephant, big elephant deity. I asked if I can merge with it. After merging I entered a big pool with elephants. One of them threw me into the waterfall from where monkeys picked me up. I got a piece of paper from them on which was written: LIVE, LOVE! I embarked with the elephants on a long journey. I asked them what this specific waterfall that I got washed from in the Middle world is all about and they answered it’s about the journey, long journey. I asked them if I can learn something from the waterfall and they answered: PERSEVERANCE. I ended my journey dancing with native warrior tribe. A war dance.

Upper World Journey:

I arrived on top of the mountain. Big bird took me off that mountain and landed me into the arena. Two massive lions came to me to rip me apart and I stopped them from left and right side with my bare hands. Once I stopped them, I entered a cave which was becoming smaller as I was approaching to it. In order to go through I had to turn into dust. As I’ve been falling down, big vortex of wind pushed me up and I landed in a golden world with a golden creatures. I saw many of them. They llaid me on a bed as their queen. I found myself within rice fields. They told me about FEEDING and NURTURING after which they burnt me so I could turn back into the ashes. As I was falling back into the cave I realized that I am falling among crystals and vortex of wind took me back again into the sky and turned me into a star dust. I had to climb a worshipping mountain on steep steps. Once I reached the top, massive amount of lava came out of my mouth and covered the shrine around me and the steps I’ve been climbing. Again, big bird arrived to pick me up (a mythological bird). She positioned me on her wings and I asked her if I have something to learn from this aspect of the waterfall. A bird answered that a waterfall is filling me with power:
1. Power of creativity
2. Power of my totem animals
3. Power of my higher self

23rd journey to the Lower World – 12.7.2019. - "Shamanism and the spirits of nature" advanced course.

Mission: journey to meet the spirit of the plant that I have chosen to communicate with in the shamanic state of consciousness in the middle world - Snake plant.

I have arrived into the desert after diving through my familiar spot in Baćina Lakes (Croatia) which is my regular vehicle for journeying into the Lower World. I saw a lizard and a camel in that desert. I walked through the desert at came to a cave. It was a small cave but multidimensional one. I have asked the spirit of a snake plant to show me its true nature.

Upon my question, a snake came out crawling. I entered the cave and saw a sage in it, some sort of a deity or Buddha that was sitting in samadhi, total absolute peace. I asked if I may merge with him and je took me into his hand and I melted into him. I came inside of him and saw a giant golden bowl. I asked him if I can take it with me back to the Middle World and he responded that I can take back only as much as good deeds that I have done throughout my life. I suddenly entered his mouth and he gifted me a wisdom tooth.

“Soul spa journey” – asking for healing of my family life

Arrived into the Lower World and found a bird who was talking to me. She took me to a troop of monkeys to show me a prime example of a family unit. She than took me to the army of ants where I had to change the perspective on the world and lower myself deep into the ground where I have been literally dismembered into pieces.

I saw myself in my grave with worms eating me only to be brought back onto the ground as a growing bunch of flowers on top of that grave.

When flowers have grown, I picked them all up and took them to all worldly places in which I lived as part of a family. First to my primarily family in which I have been growing up (parent’s home) than to the house I have lived with my daughter and a partner in Croatia. As the last station, I stopped by my current house in Australia where I lived with my second husband and my daughter.

These were flowers of my soul that grew up from my ashes. I created a vortex out of those flowers, a cauldron in which I made a drink for my husband and my daughter to share. After I visited my current family unit, I handed down a flower to all my previous relationships and finished my journey.

21st journey to the Lower World – 9.7.2019. on first day of attending Foundation’s for Shamanic Studies course – Shamanic Knowledge Series

Question from Johanness from Hong Kong – “What he needs to know to reach his next step in his career?”

- Arctic fox
- Snowy mountain/whiteness/coldness
- Arctic Fox slid down the snowy mountain
- Pointing at the big city with a capital letters CH (China?!)
- Fox moved into a den deep into the ground (hibernating)
- Fox is pointing to a spring time as a time to strive
- Fox is saying Johanness will strive in his work
- Fox tied him up and took Johanness on her back onto the snowy mountain pointing at CH

Result: Fox was pointing into the problems with China and how that will affect Johannes’s career in Hong Kong. The Anti-Extradition Law Amendment Bill Movement, also known as the 2019 Hong Kong protests were a series of demonstrations that started to occur shortly after this journey. These were one of the largest series of demonstrations in the history of Hong Kong with thousands arrested in violent scenes.

20th journey to the Lower World – 9.7.2019.
First day of attending the Foundation’s for Shamanic Studies course – Shamanic Knowledge Series - The Way of the Shaman basic course.

I have travelled down the spiral from Bacina Lakes in Croatia (my place of power in ordinary reality) through the imaginary tunnel than narrow tunnel where I almost got stuck. After a short struggle to free myself, I arrived in the open wide sea. I catapulted myself back to jungle where I met my mother figure from the Lower World – a bear. She was smiling, happy to see me again after a long time. I asked her to “HELP ME TO SURRENDER AND REMOVE CONTROL OVER MY LIFE.”

Bear then took me on a journey of finding my inner child. Mother bear danced with me. I have seen squirrel too along the way. A bear took me to the waterfalls, and we played there as kids sliding through the water. At some point we have dived together to the deepest point of the ocean to find a special shell with a jewel within it. Once we found it, the two of us came back to the dry shore when I ate the jewel we found. As soon as it came inside of me, I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl that appeared to be my own self.

Mother bear took care of that baby girl for me while I jumped into a dwell to other dimension where I have found a wolf who ran with me wild and free and took me to her pack of wolves and allowed me to drink her milk as if I was one of them. After I came back to mother bear, I asked permission to take baby back with me into the Middle (ordinary) world and we together dived back through the Lake from the beginning of my journey.
