Changes to Assignment of Benefit

We are updating our Assignment of Benefit process to ensure we continue to meet Medicare requirements and provide a smooth and transparent billing experience for our patients.

Assignment of Benefit (AOB) is a Medicare process that allows your Medicare rebate to be paid directly to the practice for eligible services. This means you don’t need to pay the full cost upfront and then claim your rebate from Medicare yourself. Instead, Medicare pays the rebate directly to the practice on your behalf, making the billing process simpler and more convenient.

As part of these updates, we may ask you to confirm your consent more clearly before a Medicare claim is submitted on your behalf. These changes help ensure:

* Your Medicare claim is processed correctly.
* Your consent is recorded appropriately.
* Your personal and billing information remains accurate.
* We continue to comply with Medicare requirements.

These changes will not affect the care you receive and are simply part of maintaining best practice in our billing processes. If you have any questions about Assignment of Benefit or Medicare claiming, our team will be happy to assist.
