An important message for many of us. Especially at this time of year which can bring up painful emotions around difficult family situations.
I love the bit about collecting surrogate mothers along the way, I like to call them my 'Fairy Godmothers'.
With love and understanding,

Vale Colin Adams ~ 26 Dec 1949 - 22 April 2026

I share this as he was such an integral part of me and always supported my life’s purpose and my heart.

Going through my father in laws seed box and sowing as many as I can in my new green house I got for my birthday. It felt like a way to connect with him, as he was a brilliant gardener.
Inside the box, among the thousands of seeds was this roll of invisible thread… I always remembered ‘the invisible thread theory’, it says that when you truly love someone, a connection forms that doesn’t rely on physical presence. Even if distance, time, or death separates you, that thread still exists. You can’t see it or touch it, but it shows up in quiet ways, like thinking of them out of nowhere, feeling comfort from their memory, or carrying parts of them in how you live and love. For me it is gardening that connects me to my father in law.

So the love doesn’t end when the person is gone. It just changes form. And the thread never breaks ♥️ I truly believe this.

Healing hurts.
I’ve always imagined it as wind… An invisible force which can pe*****te and reshape even the densest of stone over time.
It can be harsh, like the winter winds that you feel deep in your bones.
It can be wild, moving oceans inside you. Throwing over large ships.
It can blow a heap of s**t in your face. Sand in your eyes, dirt in your mouth, dust in your throat.
It can be cold, lonely and bitter.
But it is worth it, every breath you take towards your own healing is worth it. YOU are worth it.

Until healing feels like a warm summer breeze (and it will)… remember; real healing hurts.. and thats okay. It is still healing.
Be gentle with yourself. Be really, really gentle. You are listening to every thought you think.

Touch - The first sense to develop in humans at around 8 weeks in utero.
Margaret Atwood said it beautifully “Touch comes before sight, before speech. It is the first language and the last, and it always tells the truth.

Touch deprivation has number of unpleasant effects; depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts and behaviours, increased cortisol levels, inability to handle stressful situations, diminished immune system functioning and cognitive delays.
Positive touch promotes the release of dopamine, serotonin and oxytocin which in turn create feelings of happiness, satisfaction, general well-being and motivation.

Over years of doing body and energy work I have noticed the many benefits of human touch.
I once had a woman tell me during her treatment, ‘When you’re a baby everyone wants to touch you, you are small and cute and pure, you smell good, your skin feels good, but then you get old and wrinkly and no one wants to touch you anymore, thats why I come for my massages”. Hearing this broke my heart, I know exactly what she meant. After working many years in aged care, you see people dying around you, generally alone. The comfort that the residents took in having someone sit with them at this time, simply holding their hand or touching their arm was so powerful. Even in the final seconds of life, touch can still be felt.

Human touch is deeply engrained into our blueprint, a core part of what it is to be human. It is essential to our wellbeing.

Some simple examples of positive touch include:
~ Cuddling
~ Holding hands
~ Any reassuring touch
~ A teaching touch
~ Massage
~ Sitting close to someone on the couch
~ Playing with someones hair
~ Foot rubs
~ Patting someone on the back

Do you remember that last time you were touched? How did it feel? Did it bring up certain emotions? What was the quality of the touch?

I wrote this for my friend who passed away last year... who asked the question in her final days 'Where am I going?'

Where is the place that I will go, when my heart does stop
and my eyes do close?

It is a garden,
unknown to us
until,
guided on beams of light
towards distant suns,
we arrive.

It is here that you return to yourself,
to all that you have lost in this precious life,
given back to you at last.

This life was created
to gather all the seeds needed for this garden,
so that all you loved
can be in the one place,
at the one time
for the rest of eternity.
It is here that you rest.
Safe in all you are,
all you were
and all you will ever be.

We are but gardeners in this earthly life,
Collecting seeds and pulling weeds.
