🌟On Aged Care Employee Day, we’d like to express our sincere gratitude to Vincent Court’s dedicated team members for everything you do to enhance the wellbeing of residents who call our community home.🌟

We recently took part in Apollo Care’s very special initiative called 'Moments that Matter'. This initiative encouraged staff across our 14 not-for-profit communities to recognise and nominate the moments of kindness, compassion and teamwork that make a genuine difference to the lives of residents and their families, and their colleagues.

For Vincent Court, one such moment was when our Lifestyle Team made a little wish come true for resident, Des. Having expressed a real hankering for a good old McDonald’s cheeseburger and fries, the team set about organising an outing to South Kempsey so he could indulge in one of his favourite treats. A seemingly small moment, but the happiness it brought him can be seen in his smile!

Thank you, Michelle, Lifestyle Lead and Des, for being such treasured members of our community.

At Vincent Court, we love helping residents stay connected to their loved ones. 🫶 Resident George loves being around his family and treasures their regular visits, particularly when all the grandchildren come in. “I love playing games with the family or spending time with my son in the garden,” he says. “My son also helps me by reaching the plants I can’t get to!”

In true Vincent Court fashion, our annual Ball was a huge hit last week! Residents had decided on a Country & Western theme this year, and everyone has been hard at work making decorations and planning activities. Staff joined residents dressed up in country clothing, enjoyed some delicious food, music and dancing and had a fun photo booth. Everyone had a fabulous time! This event just keeps getting better every year. A huge shout out to all involved for making the Ball a stand-out event on our Lifestyle Calendar.

The three things Jane loves to do in the community:
1. Being supported to keep connections with my loved ones– I’m so grateful I’m able to spend time going out to dinner with them or watching the football at my son’s house.
2. The bus outings to the shops – I love browsing, especially the knick-knack shops.
3. The opportunity to stay active – I enjoy going swimming in the local pool.

Embracing community spirit and country entertainment 🥰 The annual Kempsey show is a time-honoured tradition and residents were keen, as always, to join in the fun!

It was a beautiful day as we boarded the bus and headed to the showgrounds. Some residents watched the arena events, while others explored the displays, tasted some delicious fare or browsed the Vincent Court exhibit and the market stalls. We also tried on very stylish Akubra hats.
