We had a deadly visit out at the depot today from 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿, 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗲 and 𝗘𝘄𝗮𝗻 from 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 (LLS), who came to check out one of the initiatives our Ranger crew has been working on.

This visit was aimed around our on-site greenhouse.

With plenty of experience in conservation and land management, it was great to have them out for a yarn and to share ideas around where we're heading.

Our aim is to grow native plants and trees that belong in our local landscapes, while building towards native seed collection down the track.

A big shout out to our Female Ranger, 𝗣𝗲𝘁𝗮 𝗤𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗹𝗮𝗻, who's been leading this initiative. Her knowledge of our local native plants and passion for looking after Country has been a big part of getting this up and running.

For us, it's about growing the plants and trees that have always called this place home. The idea is to have local species ready to go when they're needed back on Country, while continuing to build our knowledge around how and why they were traditionally used.

Murrungbu 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿, 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗲 and 𝗘𝘄𝗮𝗻 for traveling down and spending some time with us. We really appreciate your advice and the insights you brought to the greenhouse.

There's nothing better than being out on Country.

Marrungbu Thunggutti Rangers for inviting our Dunghutti Rangers along to today's cultural burn,

This was a deadly opportunity to spend the day alongside our Macleay ranger groups, including the Dunghutti Gurrgiyn Gurrgiyn Rangers.

Days like this are what it's all about – bringing mob together, sharing knowledge, having a yarn, and learning different ways of caring for country.

Hopefully we keep seeing more days like this across our beautiful barri.

We would like to say, "𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐛𝐮" for coming along to celebrate the opening of our Community Yarning Circle. Sharing the end of this journey with our community made the day truly special.

To our dunghutti community for making the day one to remember. Durri ACMS for recognising the importance of creating spaces like this for our people and community. 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 for putting your trust in our vision. Our local 𝐇𝐮𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐰𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐊𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐬𝐞𝐲 for your generosity and no hesitation to give back to the community, also Dunghutti Catering Services for providing the deadliest feeds for our mob.

To our local members, marrungbu for being apart of our opening. Your presence reflects the importance of investing in spaces that bring our community together.

Lastly, a very special Marrungbu to our young Dunghutti-gutun Dhalayikurr
(dunghutti children), who proudly shared culture through dance to remind us that our future is strong when our young ones stand in culture.

It is because of 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 that places like this have meaning.

Yawayi, Come join us as we officially open our "Community Yarning Circle", a welcoming space created through the hard work and dedication of our Rangers with the support from our local Durri ACMS. They've been busy bringing this special place to life for our community to connect, share stories and come together for a yarn.

Wuunggati Barriya Aboriginal Corporation was honoured to attend the Durri Aboriginal Medical Service Women’s Healing Camp this week, standing strong alongside women on Country in a space of connection, culture and healing.

One of our deadly female rangers, Peta Quinlan, proudly delivered an artefact cultural workshop for the women attending camp. The workshop focused on traditional items including coolamons and bowls, sharing knowledge about their purpose, cultural significance, and the importance of continuing these practices for future generations.

In the lead up to the camp, our ranger team spent time on Country respectfully collecting the materials needed to create these artefacts. The timber was carefully selected, gathered and prepared on Country, with each piece shaped by our team before camp.

During the workshop, the women then completed the final stages shaving, shaping and refining their own coolamons and bowls.

It was powerful to witness each woman put her own touch into her piece, connecting hands, heart and spirit to culture.

This workshop wasn’t just about creating artefacts it was about strengthening identity, sharing knowledge, and creating a safe space for women to heal together through culture.

We are proud to support opportunities like this that keep culture strong, women empowered, and knowledge flowing from generation to generation.

Wuunggati Barriya Aboriginal Corporation is proud to support 18 young girls from West Kempsey Public School Dunghutti Dance Group.

We were honoured to assist in covering some the costs of materials, tights, and shirts to ensure the girls are fully equipped and ready to dance with pride on Country.

A heartfelt thank you to Jayarni Robert’s there dance teacher, and Aboriginal student support officer for allowing our business to walk alongside you and support these incredible young leaders.

It means so much to contribute to opportunities that help our girls strengthen their connection to culture, build their capacity, and grow in confidence.

Seeing them dance strong in culture and community is what it’s all about. 💛🖤❤️

Here is the first if our incoming exciting announcements on the back of our SEWB conference.

We’re proud to share that our Men’s Healing Camp will be held from 4–7 December in Crescent Head, delivered in partnership with Wuungaati Barriya Aboriginal Corporation.

This camp is a powerful opportunity for our men to come together, stand shoulder to shoulder, and support each other through healing, connection and culture.
