Meet our students: a series 👩‍🎓

Amaze takes both speech pathology and occupational therapy students and we also support current students in their roles as allied health assistants. We love to share our passion, knowledge and ideas, and learn just as much from them!

New OT Alert! Today we welcome our newest OT Tayla to the team. Tayla will be seeing clients on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays and still has a couple of spots free, as do Keira and Jen. We will let her settle in first and then introduce her a little more! Welcome Tayla 😀

Articulation in action 🗣️ This strategy is called the ‘h insertion trick’ and it’s especially useful when a child needs help to drop an interjecting sound like this. Mr 4 is stopping his fricatives so his /f/ and /s/ sounds comes out as a /d/ sound. While he knows how to make both of those sounds, the /d/ is still stuck in the middle if he tries to fix it. Watch how he is using this strategy to get a smooth production. This is the first time he tried this and he was so proud that he could do his whole pile of cards by the end of the game.
