I knew breakups hurt, but I didn’t expect the silence to be this loud.
The empty bed. The quiet house. The lack of texts, calls, check-ins. Even when things weren’t good between us, at least I felt like I had someone. Now, it’s just me.
And at first, that felt unbearable.
But something shifted when I stopped running from the loneliness and started facing it. Instead of filling every empty moment with distractions, I let myself sit with it. I cried. I screamed into my pillow. And then, I started asking myself—what do I want? What makes me feel whole?
I’m still figuring it out. But I’m no longer afraid of being alone.
One quiet moment at a time.
