I recently received information from the Care Leavers Australasia Network (CLAN) that I want to share with you as it may be of benefit.

Firstly that CLAN exists - "Care Leavers for Care Leavers". It is a national advocacy organisation supporting individuals raised in Orphanages, Children's Homes, Missions & Foster Care.

They also shared information about the National Redress Scheme, which is for people who experienced child sexual abuse while in an institution and that it closes in June 2027. CLAN can help you access the Scheme.

CLAN also offers a free counselling service: 1800 008 774

Should you wish to see a Psychologist about your experiences, Treehouse Psychology would be happy to accept a referral (fee for service).

Treehouse Psychology is *accepting new clients* for our The Gap Clinic for appointments on Thursdays. And at our Kenmore Clinic for appointments Wednesday mornings. Or for Telehealth. Appointments available now.

For GP/Medicare referrals out of pocket cost is $78.45 for in-clinic; $73.45 for Telehealth if GP/Better Access/MHCP referral).

We accept a range of referral types, including DVA, CTP, WCQ, NDIS (self or plan managed) (with no out of pocket cost), and self referrals, as well as GP/Medicare referrals.
