Say hello to Mikayla, one of our friendly Receptionists here at 3D Physiotherapy Health Group.

Mikayla has been with our team for three months and loves being part of such a welcoming and supportive workplace.

She brings plenty of laughs to the team, loves spending time with her kids, and can often be found in the kitchen baking treats when she’s not at work.

She’s also a big fan of giant waterslides, dreams of hibernating like a bear through winter, and reckons ‘Hey Mickey’ would be the perfect soundtrack to her life.

Mikayla’s warmth, kindness and sense of humour help make every visit to 3D a positive experience.

We’re so glad to have her as part of the 3D team.

Exercise is now recognised as an important part of cancer care. A growing body of research shows that appropriately prescribed exercise is safe and beneficial before, during and after cancer treatment.

Exercise may help you manage fatigue, improve strength and physical function, support your emotional wellbeing, enhance your quality of life, and help you maintain independence.

Whether you’re preparing for treatment, currently undergoing treatment, or adjusting to life afterwards, the right exercise program can be tailored to your individual needs, treatment plan, goals and current capacity.

Emerging evidence also suggests that regular physical activity following a cancer diagnosis is linked to improved survival and a lower risk of recurrence in some cancers.

Beyond the physical benefits, exercise provides an opportunity to take an active role in your health, helping you feel stronger, more capable and more confident during treatment and beyond.

At 3D Physiotherapy Health Group, our Exercise Physiologist provides personalised, evidence-based exercise programs designed to help you move safely, maintain independence and support your overall wellbeing.

Our approach focuses on helping you stay as strong, active and independent as possible at every stage of care.

Quick fixes can feel tempting when you just want relief.

It’s easy to focus on a short-term fix, something to get you back on track right now, but lasting health is built over time.

Through physiotherapy, exercise physiology, cancer rehabilitation and lymphoedema care, we look beyond your immediate issue and consider what will support your body long term.

We know feeling well now is important, but helping you stay well is what helps you keep doing the things you love.

Want to build a stronger foundation for your future health? Start the conversation with our team.

Life doesn’t slow down so you can focus on your health.

There’s always work to do, people to look after and things demanding your attention. It’s no wonder taking care of yourself often gets pushed to the bottom of the list.

But over time, small niggles can start to have a bigger impact on how you move, feel and function. We believe healthcare should fit around your life. Whether through physiotherapy, exercise physiology, cancer rehabilitation or lymphoedema care, we’ll create a plan that works for you and your lifestyle.

If you’ve been waiting for the ‘right time’ to focus on your health, this is your reminder, your health should support the life you want to live now.

Are you doing all the right things, but still not feeling your best?

We recently held a Metabolic Health Education Session, where our Lifestyle Medicine GP Dr Bethany Hough and Exercise Physiologist Kalcey Gahan shared how metabolic health can influence energy levels, recovery, inflammation and overall wellbeing.

If you missed the session, access the recording and additional resources in the Your Health Library on our website. Here you will find practical health information designed to help you make sense of your health without the overwhelm.

If you’re experiencing ongoing fatigue, poor recovery, unexplained changes in your health, or feel like something isn’t right, Dr Beth can work with you to determine contributing factors and discuss a personalised approach to your health.

Not all cancer treatment side effects end when treatment finishes. For some people, swelling, heaviness, tightness or changes in movement can be signs of lymphoedema, a condition that can develop when lymphatic fluid builds up in the body.

If you are feeling unsure about what is normal after treatment, understanding the signs of lymphoedema is so important.

While it is a long-term condition, there are a range of evidence-based approaches that can help manage symptoms, support movement, and improve your day-to-day comfort.

If you have concerns about swelling or other changes following cancer treatment, speaking with our Advanced Lymphoedema Practitioner, Meg, can help you better understand your options.

Meg is in our Sternberg St Clinic every Thursday, book in for a chat with her today.
