Trauma is not always one big event - it can also be the accumulation of stress, overwhelm, or experiences where the body and nervous system did not feel safe or supported.

Different types of trauma can affect the body in different ways, often leaving people feeling “stuck” in patterns of tension, stress, fatigue, anxiety, or emotional overwhelm.

Craniosacral Therapy offers a gentle, nervous-system-focused approach that may support the body in releasing held tension and returning to a greater sense of balance and safety.

Some experiences people commonly seek support for include:

- Physical trauma
Motor vehicle accidents, falls, injuries, surgery, birth trauma, or chronic pain an leave lasting patterns of tension within the body.

- Emotional trauma
Grief, loss, relationship breakdowns, emotional stress, burnout, or difficult life experiences can impact both emotional and physical wellbeing.

- Developmental or childhood trauma
Early experiences of instability, neglect, fear, or ongoing stress can shape how the nervous system responds later in life.

- Chronic stress and overwhelm
Long-term stress may keep the nervous system in a constant state of “fight or flight”, making it difficult to fully rest, relax or regulate.

- Medical or procedural trauma
Hospital stays, invasive procedures, or ongoing health challenges can sometimes leave the body feeling guarded or dysregulated.

Craniosacral Therapy uses a light, supportive touch to help calm the nervous system, ease held tension, and create a sense of safety within the body - without forcing the body to relive difficult experiences.

Many people describe sessions as deeply calming, grounding, and restorative.

Healing looks different for everyone, but sometimes the body simply needs gentle support, space, and safety to begin unwinding what it has been carrying.

Have you been in an accident lately?

Even a seemingly minor car accident can leave a lasting imprint on the body….

Long after an accident, whether it be motor vehicle, horse riding, skiing or otherwise, you may continue to experience symptoms such as neck or back tension, headaches, jaw tightness, fatigue, poor sleep, anxiety or simply being unsettled. This often happens when the nervous system still carries the stress and strain of the experience.

Craniosacral therapy offers a gently, non-invasive approach to support the body’s recovery process. Using a light, supportive touch, sessions aim to help release stored tension, calm the nervous system, and encourage the body back to balance and regulation.

People often seek support for:
- Sleep and relaxation difficulties
- Feeling anxious, overwhelmed, emotional or “on-edge”
- Jaw discomfort and TMJ tension
- Neck and back tension or “whiplash”

Rather than forcing the body to change, Craniosacral Therapy works by listening to what the body may still be holding - creating space for ease, release, and restoration at a pace that feels safe and supported.

If you’re noticing the effects of and accident weeks or months later, your body may benefit from Craniosacral Therapy. To book a session, call Lowood Natural Therapies, or to discuss if this may be right for you, call Kylie on 0438987456 to have a chat.

Birth into the world is a big journey for us all - and babies can often benefit from a little extra support afterwards.

When birth involves interventions such as forceps, induction, or a longer or more intense labour, babies can sometimes hold tension or compression in their tiny bodies. This may present as unsettled behaviour, feeding difficulties, trouble sleeping, digestive discomfort, or favouring one side when turning their head.

Craniosacral therapy offers a gentle, non-invasive approach that aims to support the nervous system and encourage the release of built-up tension. Using very light touch, sessions work to support balance and ease through the head, spine, and body, helping babies to feel more settled and comfortable.

Parents often seek support for:
- Feeding and latching challenges
- Sleep and settling difficulties
- Wind, reflux, and colic discomfort
- Neck tightness or head direction preference
- General calmness and regulation

Every baby is different and each birth story is unique. Sometimes gentle support can help babies feel more relaxed, connected and at ease in their bodies.

If you’d like to learn more about whether this approach may support your little one, feel free to connect with Kylie or book a session at Lowood Natural Therapies.

Why choose Craniosacral Therapy?

Because sometimes the body doesn’t need force - it needs safety, stillness and support.

Craniosacral Therapy works with the nervous system using a gentle touch to help the body release tension, settle stress patterns, and return to a greater sense of balance. Many people describe sessions as deeply calming and restorative, leaving them feeling lighter, more grounded and more connected to themselves.

It’s a soft approach that honours the body’s own ability to heal and regulate in its own time.

If you’d like to learn more or to book a session, call Lowood Natural Therapies or contact Kylie on 0438 987 456.

Hello, my name is Kylie and I am your qualified Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist. I have a degree and background in Veterinary Technology and a deep passion for supporting the nervous system, emotional wellbeing, and whole-body balance - for both people and animals.

Through my veterinary background, I bring a scientific and evidence-based mindset to working with my clients, combined with a safe and nurturing environment as we work towards common goals and re-establish a sense of wellbeing. I offer gentle hands-on sessions designed to help the body shift out of stress and into a state where healing, rest, and regulation can occur naturally.

Many people seek Craniosacral Therapy for support with tension, overwhelm, burnout, emotional stress, chronic discomfort, or simply to reconnect with themselves.

What I love most about this work is creating a calm safe space where people feel truly listened to and supported.

I’m looking forward to welcoming you at Lowood Natural Therapies and working alongside you to regain wellbeing. I’ll be sharing more about Craniosacral Therapy throughout this week and in the future, so if you’re curious or you’d just like to pop in and say hello, I’d love to connect. Alternatively, feel free to give me a call on 0438 987 456.

More Than One Way

One thing I wish more therapists understood is that there is rarely only one right way to help a body.

Over the years, I’ve watched bodyworkers become surprisingly cruel toward one another over methods, pressure, products, tools, or techniques. As if healing only counts if it looks exactly like their approach. But the body is far too intelligent and far too individual for that kind of thinking.

One therapist may work slowly into the fascia with deep, sustained pressure. Another may barely seem to move at all while working with the nervous system and fluid dynamics. One may use movement and stretching. Another may use stillness and subtle touch. And all of them may help the client tremendously.

The truth is, most skilled therapists are simply learning different dialects of the same language.

I think we sometimes forget that behind every set of hands is another human being who has poured years into learning how to help people hurt a little less. We do not have to tear each other apart to honor the value in our own work.

There is room for different styles. Different philosophies. Different techniques.

The body has never spoken in only one language.

The science is finally catching up! This is exciting read regarding fascia and the mind-body connection. Thank you CTET....
