Fibre every single day. Oats, legumes, vegetables, that's what good bacteria feed on. A probiotic won't work if the fibre isn't there in your diet first.

The key word is consistently. Taking vitamin C on a daily basis is what actually helps. If you already feel a cold coming on, a higher dose for a short period can still help reduce the severity and length of it. One of the biggest misconceptions though is that more is always better. Vitamin C is water soluble, so there's only so much your body can use before the rest is simply flushed out.

Go past that and your liver hits a breaking point where it simply can't process it fast enough, and damage happens faster than most people realise. If you drink alcohol regularly, that safe threshold is even lower. Check the ingredients across everything you're taking. A lot of cold and flu combos already contain paracetamol, so it's easy to double the dose without realising.
