We're so excited to welcome Ruby to the Koru team as our newest Allied Health Assistant! 🎉
Ruby works across our clinic rooms and wider community, bringing a uniquely versatile skill set to every session — blending structural learning, creative movement and practical life skills in a way that genuinely connects with kids of all ages.
With a natural ability to break down complex tasks into engaging, achievable steps, Ruby collaborates closely with our multidisciplinary team to help children find their rhythm, build real-world confidence and celebrate the small wins along the way.

Handwriting Helpers is a 1:1 intensive program running throughout the July school holidays — designed by our OT team to target the specific skills holding your child back.
Letter placement and spacing. Pencil grip and hand strength. Posture and core stability. Planning and story mapping.

The Koru Explorers are back for Term 2 holidays! 🚀
Every day of the school holidays, our OT-designed sessions give kids aged 3–6 two hours of purposeful, themed play — building gross motor skills, sensory regulation, fine motor development and real social connection.
This isn't just keeping them busy. It's two hours that count.

🧱 LEGO Group is back for Term 2 — and we only have a couple of spots left!
Every Monday, Ebony (our OT and resident LEGO technician) runs a small, structured group designed to help kids build social skills, confidence, and emotional regulation — through the magic of LEGO.
Kids rotate through the roles of Engineer, Supplier, and Builder, practising turn-taking, teamwork, and communication in a way that actually feels fun. Plus free build time to let their creativity shine.

Merry Christmas to all our wonderful families and staff. We will be closing on the 19th December at 1pm and will reopen on the 5th January after a well deserved break! We look forward to seeing everyone in 2026.

We still have a few spots left in some of our January groups:
• Koru Explorers (ages 3-6) running Mondays and Tuesdays for 2 hours per session through January - Focus on sensory motor, gross motor and social skills in a small group environment (max 4 children). Book in for as many as you like. Cost - $100pp/session

• Creative Steps – focus on creativity, connection and emotional growth. 1.5 hour sessions at $80pp/session.
o Wednesdays 10:30am - 12pm: 2 spots remaining
o Wednesdays 2pm - 3:30pm: 3 spots remaining
o Fridays 9:30am - 11am: 1 spot remaining

• Lego group:
o Spots only remain for our Thursday afternoon (1:30 – 3:30pm group) for ages 8 – 9. Get in quick!

🥑 Koru Kids in the Kitchen – Positive Food Exploration These Holidays

This school holiday program is designed for children who benefit from gentle, playful experiences with food in a safe, supported and zero-pressure environment.

Led by Dietitian Fiona Gordon of Savouring Nutrition, alongside our Therapy Assistant team, this group helps children:

✨ Explore food through sensory play (touch, smell, sight — not just tasting)
✨ Build confidence interacting with new foods at their own pace
✨ Develop interoceptive awareness — tuning into body cues like hunger, fullness and comfort
✨ Enjoy a sense of fun and adventure in a social, supportive setting
✨ Provide take-home strategies for families to keep the progress going

Perfect for children who find new foods a little overwhelming or need a positive, encouraging space to build comfort around food.

👧 Preschool + school-aged groups

You may have heard that our Administration Officer, Teagan is heading off on Maternity leave in February next year! We are so excited for her to welcome baby number 2 into the world!

Whilst Teagan is off being a Mum, we are looking for a highly organised, friendly and proactive Administration Officer to join our team and keep the practice running smoothly.

This will be a 12 month fixed term contract with some flexibility in working days and hours. We are ideally looking for someone who can work 3-4 days per week.
