1. Our sweet boy, Henry.
2. The first of 4 births I supported in July - a beautiful, hands off arrival in a private hospital.
3. Out bathroom renovation was finally completed!
4. Supported another client in welcoming her second baby 🩷
5. A quick trip to England following a close family bereavement
6. Supported a third client in welcoming their daughter. Another hands off birth in a private hospital (yes, it can happen!)
7. Later the same day I attended my last birth of July. An incredibly patient labour full of connection 🩵
8. I taught a Hypnobirthing Class!
9. Postnatal visits with a regular client 🩵
10. It’s been a while but my brekkie dates with my hubby have returned
Thank you July, I can’t wait to see what August will bring! ❤️

We’re all watching the World Cup and this is my theory on who will win the match before the ball is even kicked.
I always think the team that sings their national anthem the most passionately will win.
Why?
Because that team is inspired, they are bonded as a group and they are full of pride in what they’re about to@do and who they represent. They are going full chested into that game.
And because I’m a doula of many years I relate everything to birth and postpartum prep. So channel the energy of a passionate soccer team, have trust in the people around you, believe that you know enough and have everything you need to meet your baby.

This is pretty unique advice for birth and postpartum prep - but as an experienced Sydney doula I’m telling you it’ll be a game changer for you.
Keep 2 lists in your phone - I call mine a Joy List and a Baddie List, but you can call them whatever you want to.
Joy List - things in your day that bring a smile to your face.
Baddie List - times when you figured stuff out and got it done.
Keeping these lists trains your brain to do 2 things. You notice more good things and your confidence in approaching unfamiliar situations increases.
Both of these skills are critical as you approach your birth and postpartum.
So start your lists and let me know how it changes things for you!

If you’re buying the mother in your life a voucher for Mother’s Day you are adding to her mental load! A gift where she has to organise time, family commitments and then still return to the busy family life afterwards is not a great gift.
So I’m encouraging partners to put in that bit of extra effort and make the appointment, organise the kid(s) and take care of everything for the rest of the day.
Trust me, she’ll be so impressed - this is small effort and big reward!
And she deserves this, so get it sorted 😉

That’s a wrap for April! How was it for you?

📸 1-7 - went on an AMAZING holiday! Travelled on the Ghan Train, stopped at some amazing places and hung out in wineries in SA at the end. Loved every second of it.
📸 5 - bought a painting
📸 8 - taught a very engaged Hypnobirthing class
📸 9 - it was my birthday! Also my husband’s birthday on the same day (fun fact)
📸 - 10-11 back to real life with meal prepping and client visits. I am now consistently on call for clients until September 🙌🏻
12 - spoke at the webinar on Postpartum Prep, here’s me finishing my slide deck with Henry’s help 🤣
I can’t believe we’re now done with the first 1/3 of 2026. I’ll be spending some time and planning tomorrow, always conscious that time slips past me if I am not intentional.
