You might already be aware of this, but here is a level-headed reminder that your body is constantly looking out for you without you even needing to prompt it.
Almost every single function in your physical body is controlled completely by your autonomic nervous system. That means it is entirely automatic.
Your heart beats, your lungs expand, and your digestion processes food without your conscious brain ever having to schedule it. It is a brilliant, brilliant piece of somatic engineering designed to keep you alive and safe.
But here is the catch: because it runs on autopilot, your nervous system doesn't wait for your logic to catch up. When you are carrying a hidden script of "not good enough" or unexpressed stress, your body registers it as a physical threat before you've even consciously processed the thought. The tension in your jaw, the sudden shift to shallow breathing, the racing pulse - these aren't faults. They are automatic signals from an ancient, protective ecosystem running in the background.
When we learn how to map the somatic links between our emotional scripts and our automatic physical reactions, we finally stop fighting our bodies and start working with them.
