What a fantastic afternoon celebrating the official opening of the newly renovated Kincumba Mountain Estate Community Centre.
Residents gathered ahead of the village’s regular Tuesday happy hour to enjoy an afternoon of drinks, a sausage sizzle and community festivities. Village Manager Kathy Hall welcomed guests and acknowledged the Living Choice team behind the refurbishment, especially the construction team whose efforts transformed the centre.
The renovation project by Living Choice is a significant upgrade to the existing community centre. The old dark colour tones and well-used furniture have been replaced with new furniture in shades of oak, soft furnishings of cream and pale blues, alongside facility improvements.
On behalf of the Residents Committee, Executive Chairman Peter Brandon shared how much he enjoys spending time at the Community Centre, highlighting the strong sense of community and recognising the efforts of staff who help make the centre such a valued gathering place.
A special thank you goes to Rosemary and Derek Jones for their hard work in helping to organise the event and for their ongoing dedication to running the Community Centre each week.
June Byres quietly undertook the reconfiguration of the Community Library post-renovation. It is now a welcome, organised and inviting space for us all to enjoy.
Assistant Village Manager Rebecca Roese, Maintenance Co-Ordinator Jane Clark and Toni from Reception were also on hand to celebrate the occasion, while Sales Consultant Dave Grassby kept everyone well fed on the barbecue.
It was wonderful to see such a strong turnout, with residents embracing the refreshed space and enjoying an afternoon of friendship, conversation and celebration.
Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the official opening such a memorable event.
