Domestic and family violence is not just a private issue. Its impact reaches into our workplaces, our families, our sporting clubs, our communities and the broader Australian society.
Every day, people can be carrying the impacts of domestic and family violence with them into the workplace. It can affect safety, concentration, relationships, attendance, performance and, most importantly, a person’s sense of wellbeing and security.
It is also something that communities cannot afford to ignore.
Creating workplaces where people feel safe to speak up, where leaders understand the signs, and where staff know how to respond appropriately can make a genuine difference.
It has been an absolute honour for the Bunyarra Wellbeing Co team to work alongside Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology on their domestic and family violence policy and to help deliver training to their staff around this important topic.
The willingness of organisations like Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology to have these conversations, strengthen their policies and equip their people with knowledge is an important step towards creating safer workplaces and stronger communities.
Domestic and family violence affects all of us.
The more we understand.
The more we notice.
The more confidently we respond.
The more opportunity we have to make a difference.
Thank you to Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology for recognising the importance of this work and for allowing us to be part of the journey.
