Today on World Family Doctor Day, we celebrate the theme “Compassionate Care in a Digital World” and recognise the incredible work of our GPs across Launceston and Tasmania.

Every day, family doctors combine clinical expertise with compassion, continuity and connection, supporting patients through every stage of life, often during their most vulnerable moments.

While technology and digital innovation are rapidly changing healthcare, the human relationship at the heart of general practice remains as important as ever.

Today, on International Nurses Day, we say thank you to all of our incredible nurses across Kings Meadows Medical Centre, Newstead Medical, Urgent Care Centre and NewWorkHealth.

Nurses are the calm in the chaos, the reassuring voice on difficult days, and the friendly faces patients remember long after their visit.

Their compassion, skill and dedication make an enormous difference to our Launceston community every single day.

Introducing Dr Trent Conroy!

Originally from Sydney, Trent studied medicine on the Sunshine Coast before making the move to Tasmania to practise and enjoy the outdoors.

He has a strong interest in sports medicine, musculoskeletal injuries and chronic disease management, with a focus on shared decision-making and patient-centred care.

Outside of work, you’ll find him trail running, rock climbing, skiing or paragliding.

Trent will be working at both Kings Meadows Medical Centre & Newstead Medical

We’re so excited to welcome Dr Renae Myhill to the team!

Renae has just relocated from NSW and will be working across Kings Meadows Medical Centre and Newstead Medical.

Renae brings extensive experience from hospitals and general practice settings across rural Australia and abroad, including a decade of practice in northern NSW before making Tasmania home.

She enjoys the full breadth of general practice, caring for patients with acute and chronic conditions and providing proactive preventive care.

Her special interests include women’s health, mental health, travel medicine and palliative care.

Outside of work, you’ll find her running, in the garden or practicing yoga.

We’re so happy she’s made the move down to Tassie, and she is currently accepting new patients!
