Two years ago, Muppet the French Bulldog underwent a major spinal surgery at Southpaws with Dr James Simcock — a lumbosacral distraction fusion and dorsal laminectomy. 🐾

💙 Stories like Pedro's are why we do what we do.

When Pedro arrived after suffering multiple severe seizures, his family faced one of the most frightening moments a pet owner can experience. Thanks to the dedication of our veterinarians, nurses, and support team, Pedro received not only the medical care he needed, but also plenty of cuddles, comfort, and love along the way.

Today, he's back where he belongs — at home with Melissa, enjoying meals, cuddles, and being his happy little self again. 🐩❤️

❤️ Meet Arlo – one of our latest lifesaving blood donors! ❤️

This handsome boy recently visited Southpaws to undergo blood donor screening and, after passing all of his health checks with flying colours, made his very first blood donation.

Arlo donated an incredible 450mL of whole blood, which was separated into two bags and could help save the lives of multiple dogs in need of emergency transfusions. 🩸🐾

After a well-earned snooze, plenty of cuddles and some recovery fluids, Arlo was back on his paws and heading home. His donation will help ensure life-saving blood products are available when critically ill patients need them most.

We are so grateful to Arlo and his family for being part of our donor community. Every donation makes a difference, and every donor helps give another pet a second chance. ❤️
