POTS?
Living with frequent dizziness when standing, a racing heart, overwhelming fatigue or persistent “brain fog”? These symptoms are often overlooked or misdiagnosed for years before the underlying cause is identified.

We’re pleased to offer a GP-led POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) and dysautonomia assessment and ongoing management service with Dr Jeremy Yang for adolescents and adults across Adelaide.

Our aim is to provide timely, accurate diagnosis and a coordinated, multidisciplinary management plan tailored to your needs.

Whether you’re seeking an initial assessment or ongoing care for an existing diagnosis, we’re here to support you every step of the way. While POTS and dysautonomia currently have no cure, the right care and management can make a meaningful difference.

To book, contact Mitcham General Practice on (08) 7089 5506 and let our reception team know you’re booking a POTS assessment with Dr Jeremy Yang so we can arrange the appropriate appointments.

If you’ve checked the weather today and wondered whether you should walk to work or build an ark, you’re not alone.
Between the sideways rain, wind that seems personally offended by umbrellas, and temperatures that make getting out of bed an extreme sport, it’s the perfect time to look after your health.
1. Stay warm
2. Keep hydrated (yes, coffee doesn’t count... unfortunately)
3. Don’t ignore those winter bugs
4. Get checked if you’re feeling under the weather.
Our team is here to help you stay healthy, dry, and upright this winter.

A New Era of Care: GP-Led ADHD Assessment and Support 🌿

Following the recent SA Health announcement regarding transformative reforms in neurodevelopmental care, we are proud to introduce a new, accessible pathway for ADHD support in our community. This initiative marks a significant shift in the South Australian healthcare landscape, allowing specially trained General Practitioners to provide comprehensive care - from initial assessment to management - without the traditional hurdles of long waitlists.

Our service is led by Dr MJ and Dr Penelope Batterham. We are proud to share that they are among the first 100 General Practitioners in South Australia to complete this specialized training program. This milestone reflects our commitment to leading the way in accessible neurodevelopmental care for our patients.

Our team brings decades of combined experience and advanced clinical training to this rollout:
* Dr MJ - FRACGP With over a decade of focus on mental health and neurodiversity, Dr MJ has extensive experience supporting children, youth and families through the Royal Children’s Hospital and various community health services. He maintains a dedicated clinical focus on neurodiversity, including ADHD and ASD.
* Dr Penelope Batterham - A senior GP and FRACGP Fellow with over 15 years of experience in community medicine. She specialises in ADHD across the lifespan, with a particular focus on the often under-identified presentations in women and girls. Her clinical approach integrates neurodevelopmental assessment with women’s mental health, addressing the complex links between hormonal transitions, trauma, and executive functioning.
* Specialised Authority: Having completed the accredited South Australian GP ADHD training pathway, both doctors are authorised to independently diagnose and initiate pharmacological treatment for patients aged 8 years and older.
We are honoured to be part of this state-wide rollout, providing timely and compassionate care to families in Adelaide.
If you are seeking a structured, evidence-based approach to ADHD management, we invite you to reach out to our reception team to schedule an initial consultation.

A Special Trainee at the Clinic - Floyd 🐾

Many of you may have met our newest little helper – Dr Hooper’s service dog in training, who has been joining us at the clinic as part of his ongoing education with Adelaide K9 Services.

Service dogs play an incredible role in supporting people with medical, physical, and emotional needs. Part of their training includes getting comfortable in busy environments like ours, so they can learn to stay calm, focused, and ready to help.

We kindly remind everyone that while he is totally adorable, he’s working, so please resist the urge to pat or distract him. Your support helps him succeed! Thanks for being apart of his journey!
