Sensory strategies can help children feel more settled, regulated and connected to their body when the world around them feels too unpredictable, noisy or difficult to process.

Through engaging different sensory systems, children can feel safer in their body, making it easier for them to engage in everyday moments.

Feeling like your child might be needing a bit more support in some areas?

Maybe they find it difficult to follow routines, to stay with the group during activities, communicate their needs or manage big emotions. It’s easy to focus on the skill that can be worked on, but often, that’s just one piece of a much bigger picture.

We start by asking ‘what might be making this hard?’
Is it language? Communication skills? Body awareness? Emotional regulation?

When we understand the ‘why,’ we can better support the ‘how’ in a way that feels more meaningful and sustainable.

At DOTS Therapy Hub, we support families in making sense of these patterns and finding practical next steps that fit your child’s unique needs.

Being able to write your name is just one small part of a child’s development, but everyday skills like following routines, managing transitions, and regulating emotions are what really support a child’s independence and confidence.

At DOTS Therapy Hub, our team of Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists work together to help children build these foundational skills, so everyday moments feel a little easier, and children can make stronger connections with their peers.

Noticing changes in your child’s development can bring up a lot of questions. By recognising signs early and bringing it up, you’re already doing a great thing for them.

Every child has their own way of growing and connecting with the world. Sometimes, a child might show signs that they could benefit from some extra support.

You might notice:
→ Reduced communication or gestures
→ Differences in attention skills
→ Repetitive behaviours
→ Challenges with social engagement
→ Difficulty with changes in routine

If you have concerns, talking with a professional is a great first step.

When it comes to school readiness skills, a little practice now makes a big difference later.

What happens when families are given the tools to support their child’s development?

Small moments become easier to understand and respond to, from getting ready in the morning, to moving through transitions, to joining in with play and learning.

You’ll start to see patterns in what seems difficult for your child, whether that’s communication, emotional regulation, attention or motor skills, and have a clearer sense of how to respond in ways that help.

Over time, children are supported not just in one area, but across the skills that matter most for independence, confidence and connection with others.

At DOTS Therapy Hub, we work alongside families to help make sense of what’s going on and build practical strategies that fit into your life day-to-day.

We know that finding time for an educator's professional development during the day isn't always possible.

That's why DOTS offers after-hours training, so your whole team can build knowledge and confidence without any disruption to the workday.

Our evening workshops are designed specifically for early childhood educators, giving your team a dedicated space to explore strategies, ask questions and build a shared understanding of how to best support every child in the room.

Every session is tailored around your team’s needs, whether that's supporting children with sensory differences, navigating complex behaviours, building communication supports or setting up a well-designed learning environment.
