A proud moment in our 60th Anniversary year

We are incredibly honoured that Calvary Health Care Kogarah's 60th Anniversary has been recognised in the NSW Legislative Assembly by Mark Coure MP, Member for Oatley.

We were also delighted to attend the Community Recognition Morning Tea, where we were presented with a commemorative certificate celebrating this significant milestone and Calvary's contribution to our community.

Thank you to Mark Coure MP for recognising 60 years of compassionate care and the dedication of our staff, volunteers and supporters.

🗣️ Speaking Up for Safety – because every voice matters. 💙

At Calvary Health Care creating a culture of safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Our staff regularly participate in training, including Speaking Up for Safety, which empowers our teams to ask questions, raise concerns and speak up when something doesn’t feel right.

By encouraging open and respectful communication, we help identify risks early and work together to provide the safest possible care for our patients, visitors and each other.

Safety starts with listening, speaking up and caring for one another. 💙

This International Self-Care Day, staff from Calvary Mater Newcastle, Calvary Bruce Private Hospital and Calvary Health Care Kogarah are sharing the simple ways they make time for their own wellbeing.

Self-care doesn't have to be complicated. Sometimes it's the small, everyday moments that help us recharge so we can continue caring for the people and communities we serve.

This year's theme, "Self-Care Puts Your Health in Your Hands: Test. Track. Thrive.", reminds us that looking after our health starts with the small choices we make every day.

At Calvary Health Care Kogarah, caring for others starts with caring for ourselves. 💙

Self-care looks different for everyone. It might be a walk in nature, exercise, prayer, time with loved ones, reading, creating art, pet therapy, enjoying good food and drink, coffee or simply taking a quiet moment to pause and breathe.

The Calvary Residential Aged Care Games have hit national television! 📺🏅

This week, Sunrise crossed live to our local team at Calvary Brighton-Le-Sands to meet some of the residents going for gold in the 2026 Calvary Residential Aged Care Games.

Here at Calvary Health Care Kogarah, we're also proud to be taking part alongside all 57 Calvary homes across Australia. The Games are bringing residents together through movement, brain games, friendly competition and plenty of laughs.

Congratulations to everyone participating, and a special shout-out to our Brighton-Le-Sands neighbours for representing Calvary so brilliantly on national TV! 👏

We are cheering on all the residents as the Games continue — go Team Calvary! 🥇💙

💙Congratulations to Dr Frank Brennan on receiving an Emblem of Kindness through South Eastern Sydney Local Health District's Small Acts of Kindness campaign.

This recognition reflects what so many people already know, Dr Brennan leads with compassion, humility and genuine care. His kindness is evident not only in the significant moments but also in the everyday interactions that make such a difference to patients, families, visitors and colleagues.

💙 Little Company of Mary Foundation Day | 2 July 💙

Today we celebrate Little Company of Mary Foundation Day, honouring Venerable Mother Mary Potter and the five women who were formally inaugurated in 1887, beginning a legacy of compassionate care that continues today.

As we also celebrate Calvary Health Care Kogarah's 60th Anniversary, we are truly grateful for the vision, faith and dedication of the Little Company of Mary Sisters, whose ministry has touched countless lives and helped shape the caring community we know today.

To all who have been part of our journey, staff, volunteers, patients, residents, families and supporters thank you for continuing this legacy of compassion every day.
