Our playgroups are free and inclusive, designed for all children from birth to 5 years (pre-school age). We offer a safe and supportive space where children can explore, grow and have fun, while families build connections within the community.

✨ Meet our new Occupational Therapist, Kate! ✨

Hi, I’m Kate!
I’ve always been passionate about helping others (and caring for animals 🐾), which naturally led me to pursue a career in Occupational Therapy. It’s incredibly rewarding to support children in reaching their full potential.

I’ve had the privilege of working with a diverse range of children and families, including those with autism, ADHD, anxiety, sensory processing differences, global developmental delay, complex care needs, Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities.

My goal is to empower children and their families through therapy that is not only effective, but also engaging and meaningful.

Play and inclusion are at the heart of my practice, because building confidence, connection and joy is what therapy is all about 💛

I feel incredibly grateful to do the work I do and look forward to continuing to make a positive impact in the lives of the children and families I support.

💫 Kate has already hit the ground running and is currently at capacity, actively supporting families across our services.

School holidays can be fun, but they can also feel a bit unsettling for some children.

Keeping a few familiar routines in place can help children feel calm, secure, and ready to enjoy the break.

Predictable routines support emotional regulation, smoother transitions, sleep, and independence. Simple strategies like keeping regular wake-up, meal, and bedtime anchors, using a visual schedule, and balancing active play with quiet downtime can make holidays feel easier for the whole family.

Try choosing two or three daily routines to keep consistent these holidays and see what helps your child feel most settled.

This NAIDOC Week, Prelude Australia proudly recognises the 2026 theme: “50 Years of Deadly.”

This powerful milestone celebrates five decades of strength, culture, leadership and community. We honour the Elders, advocates, artists and communities who have shaped and carried NAIDOC forward.

We acknowledge the past: the stories, resilience and determination of generations who refused to be silenced and paved the way for where we are today.
We recognise the present: strong culture, proud identity, and communities continuing to lead change and create opportunity.

And we commit to the future: supporting children and families through early childhood and therapy supports, creating inclusive spaces, and walking alongside communities to ensure the next generation grows up strong, connected and empowered.

At Prelude Australia, we honour what has come before by continuing the work because every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, now and into the future.

With the generosity of our community, we’re thrilled to share that over $20,000 was raised at our annual Women in Leadership fundraiser. These funds will go directly towards Prelude Australia Playgroups, supporting families and children where it matters most.
