Sometimes people ask ‘what do you treat?’ and our answer is always ‘everything!’ BUT. While we use our tools of the trade- acupuncture, herbs, cupping as essential tools to support your mental health, we’re not counsellors, naturopaths, massage therapists or osteos.

Which is why we love working within the .nty29_allied_health_collab collective, because sometimes two (or more) heads are better than one.

So we will always refer you when we think you need additional support. That doesn’t mean we can’t help you; it means that we think that there is more that can be done to support you, wherever you find yourself on your healthcare journey.

And we don’t just handball you anywhere; we only send our patients to practitioners we trust, have experienced ourselves or have had raving reviews from our other patients.

So while this herbal formula has been tailored for our patient to support their grief, we are adding a dose of counselling support to help them through.

If we think your neck or pelvis is out of alignment, we’ll send you to the osteo; if we want your hormones checked, upstairs to the naturopath and over to your GP, so we can get more data to work with. Your wellbeing is our utmost priority.

To support our wonderful community through the chillier days, we’re offering quick cupping sessions on Friday afternoon/evenings at our Kyneton location (2pm - 8pm)

Allow 30 mins to ensure you get a solid 15-20 minutes on the table. Sessions are $55 or $50 concession.

No needles, no herbs, just a simple gateway into the wonderful methods of East Asian medicine.

Cupping is a widely practiced method across Asia and Europe as a simple way to reduce pain and muscular tension, relieve colds and flus and improve blood circulation and lymphatic drainage.

Deeply relaxing, glass cups are applied to the body using a flame inside the cup to create a vacuum (no, you won’t get burnt!) and you get to rest in a state of blissful stupor.

Suitable for all body types; however we recommend ensuring you have some food in your tummy prior to your session. Cupping is suitable for laying down and sitting up so we will work around your mobility needs and where you’re at.

But where are ya gonna put them?! Cups typically are placed either side of the spine, upper back and shoulders. They can also be placed on the bum cheeks (excellent for sciatica), ITB (side of the leg, torture) and even the belly. Teeny tiny cups can be applied to the face or scar tissue. Sometimes massage oil is applied to the skin to allow a gliding sensation, and we are guided by you as to how strong you like the pressure.

Not sure if cupping is suitable for you? Drop us an email or text, and we’ll answer any questions you may have.

Please note: these sessions are not intended for any form of medical diagnosis or treatment. We may recommend you attend a comprehensive appointment to discuss complex issues and/or refer you to your medical provider.

*We don’t recommend cupping for the first trimester of pregnancy.

We all know it's not going to suddenly be 🌞Spring🌞 on the 1st, so this is still relevant...

With the cold weather, more colds and viruses are circulating in our communities, so look after each other. And remember - even if you are working on something completely different with us at Little Window, Chinese medicine excels at treating colds, coughs, sinus infections and all your respiratory dramas that love to take up space in the cold weather. Give us a call, and we can treat you via Telehealth with herbal support in the acute phase, and in person for any lingering symptoms.

We have paper copies of this season’s zine at both spaces, and are looking forward to supporting our community through these hibernation months.

Stay warm, do a puzzle and sleep in if you can.

Love,
Lucy & the gang at Little Window 🩵

Chinese herbal medicine is both art and science, and while every substance we house on our shelves has unique qualities and properties, we never prescribe an ingredient in isolation like many supplements do. Herbs are formulated together to maximise the properties and effects of each individual herb - and every herb included in your mix has a purpose. Creating a herbal formula takes years of study, practise and refinement; something Janette has been doing for nearly 20 years!

All our practitioners are degree-qualified and are registered with AHPRA in 3 divisions: acupuncture, herbal medicine prescribing and herbal medicine dispensing. We are trained to understand the interactions with pharmaceuticals you might be taking and how to prescribe your herbs safely. We modify scripts to support you as an individual, meaning you receive medicine tailored just for you.

We prepare herbal formulas for colds, pain, periods, pregnancy, allergies, surgery recovery, fatigue, skin disorders, mastitis, menopause, digestive complaints and so so so much more.

If you’ve got it, we can probably suggest some herbs for it. Got a niggle? Come and meet one of our qualified practitioners and we can help get you back on track. 🌿
