At the heart of our team is Daniel, whose steady leadership and quiet dedication help shape the care we provide every day at T.J. Scott & Son.

As Funeral Operations Manager and Funeral Director, Daniel brings more than 30 years of experience, along with a deeply considered approach to supporting families. He leads by example—taking the time to listen, guiding with care, and ensuring families feel informed and supported throughout the arranging process.

Daniel has a meticulous eye for detail, with a natural ability to bring everything together seamlessly. From the first conversation through to the day of the service, he works thoughtfully behind the scenes to ensure each farewell unfolds with care, respect and a sense of calm.

Continuing a proud family tradition, Daniel is deeply committed to serving the community with integrity and genuine care—values that are reflected in everything he does.

Outside of work, Daniel is a devoted husband and father of three, heavily involved in his children’s activities and a familiar face on the sidelines coaching local soccer—something he truly enjoys.

There are very few people who can say they have dedicated a lifetime to caring for their community—John is one of them.

With more than 60 years in the family business, John has played a central role in shaping T.J. Scott & Son into what it is today. Beginning alongside his father, Jack, he has carried forward the values established by his grandfather, Thomas J. Scott—building a business grounded in care, trust and genuine connection.

John’s contribution extends well beyond our local community. His long-standing involvement with Funerals Australia (formerly AFDA), including serving as both Victorian and National President, reflects a deep commitment to strengthening the funeral profession and upholding the highest standards of care.

At the heart of it all, John simply loves the community he serves.

Today, his focus is on his work as a Funeral Celebrant—something he finds deeply meaningful. He values the time spent with families as they plan a service, helping bring together the stories, moments and memories that truly reflect a life.
His approach is experienced, professional and personal—working alongside families to create farewells that feel genuine and considered.

Every so often, someone comes into your team who quietly sets a standard for care, kindness and thoughtfulness—and for us, that is Jordan.

Born and raised in the Macedon Ranges, Jordan has always had a genuine calling to serve others and give back to her community. In her role as Funeral Assistant, she brings a rare combination of empathy, organisation and calm support—guiding families with great care, respect and understanding.

There is no one more thoughtful or considerate of others. Jordan goes above and beyond in everything she does—both in her professional role and in the way she lives her life. She has a natural ability to anticipate what people need, often before they even realise it themselves, and responds with quiet compassion and sincerity.

With a background spanning more than 15 years in marketing, communications and event management, along with two decades in customer service, she brings a depth of experience that allows her to support families in meaningful and practical ways—ensuring each farewell reflects what matters most.

Outside of work, Jordan enjoys gardening, cooking for others, and spending time with family and friends. She is also a passionate animal lover, volunteering her time with rescue organisations and charity groups.

We’d like to introduce you to Dianne one of our extraordinary people behind that care.
Dianne quietly keeps everything running—an organisational wiz whose care and attention behind the scenes make a real difference to the families we support.
As Funeral Assistant and Pre-Planning Specialist, Dianne brings over 15 years of experience to her role. She is across every detail, ensuring everything is prepared, up to date and running as it should—often before anyone else has even thought to ask.
For many families, Dianne is also the first voice they hear. Her gentle, reassuring manner provides immediate comfort, helping guide people through those first steps with calm clarity and care.
Living in Kilmore, Dianne feels a strong connection to the community she serves and values being part of a family business where care is personal and meaningful.

There are some people in a team who quietly hold everything together—and for us, that person is Peta.
As our Administration Co-ordinator and preplanning specialist, Peta is truly the backbone of T.J. Scott & Son. Exceptionally organised and across every detail, nothing is ever missed. More importantly, she understands the people behind each arrangement—every family we are privileged to care for.
Often the first voice you will hear when you call us, Peta brings a warmth and reassurance that immediately puts families at ease. She listens deeply, understands what matters, and gently guides and supports—whether someone is arranging a funeral or taking the thoughtful step to plan ahead.
Peta has been part of the community for over 20 years and values being part of a family business where care truly matters. As she so simply puts it, “If we can make grief just a little lighter for someone, then we’ve achieved something meaningful.”

There are people in a team who quietly lift everything around them—and for us, that is Matthew.

As our Funeral Arranger and Operations Coordinator, Matthew brings an incredible level of organisation, care and initiative to everything he does. He is always thinking ahead—looking for ways to support families more thoughtfully, while also refining how we work behind the scenes to ensure everything runs seamlessly.

With a background in nursing, Matthew has a natural, calm way with people. He is thoughtful, kind-hearted and genuinely present with every family he supports—guiding them with care, while gently offering ideas that help create meaningful and personal farewells.

Beyond his role with us, Matthew is deeply committed to his community as a CFA volunteer firefighter—someone who steps forward to help whenever needed. He is also a devoted husband and proud dad to two young children, grounding everything he does in strong family values.

Meet our team—the people who support families, guide each step, and ensure every farewell is carried out with care and respect.

We are so grateful to have Lori as part of our team at T.J. Scott & Son.

As one of our Funeral Directors, Lori offers a truly beautiful level of support to the families she works alongside—guiding them with calm reassurance, care and understanding through what can be one of life’s most difficult times. She has a natural way of connecting with people, gently helping families feel comfortable, supported and confident in the decisions they are making.
Originally from Stawell, Lori spent many years in Western Australia raising her three children before settling in the Macedon Ranges, where she feels a strong connection to the community. Her journey into funeral care came from a quiet calling, and it’s clear she has found exactly where she is meant to be.
Families often speak about the difference she makes:

Over the coming weeks, we’d like to introduce you to our team—those who quietly support families, guide each step, and ensure every farewell is carried out with care, dignity and attention to detail.

We are proud to acknowledge Hayley, an incredibly caring and dedicated member of our team at T.J. Scott & Son.
Raised locally, Hayley has a strong connection to the community we serve. She began her journey with us as part of our after-hours care team, where it quickly became clear that she had found her calling. Through her quiet dedication and natural compassion, she has grown into her role as our Mortuary Care Coordinator.
The care of those entrusted to us is the cornerstone of what we do. Whether a family is holding a full funeral service, a gathering, or choosing something simple and private, the care of their loved one remains paramount. Hayley carries this responsibility with deep respect—bringing meticulous attention, professionalism and genuine compassion to every aspect of her role.
Her work is often behind the scenes, but it is central to the trust families place in us, and to the standard of care we are committed to providing.
Outside of work, Hayley enjoys giving back through volunteering with a local youth organisation, and spending time outdoors—camping, swimming, and being with family and friends.
