🎳 Congratulations Broadford Bowling Club!

A big congratulations to the Broadford Bowling Club on the successful Ailsa Kell Memorial Tournament, held on Sunday, 23 August.

We are very proud to sponsor this special event and to support a club that, while small in size, is certainly big in spirit and community.

Local clubs like Broadford Bowling Club offer so much more than sport. They provide a place to connect, belong, share a laugh and simply get out and about. That sense of connection can be an important and sometimes intangible source of support within a community – something we believe is well worth nurturing.

It was wonderful to see such a vibrant day on the greens, with John Scott there to present the winners and share in the celebrations.

Congratulations to everyone who participated, to the winners, and particularly to the hardworking members and volunteers who made the day possible.

One of the most moving moments from Shane's farewell last week was this incredible Guard of Honour, led by 'Shane's Bucket' and his Powercor family.

For 46 years, Shane Tatti dedicated his working life to serving our community as a linesman. Highly skilled, deeply respected, and always willing to help, he earned the admiration of colleagues across the wider Powercor family. The sight of the truck he worked from, standing proudly at the front of the procession, was a powerful and fitting tribute to a man who gave so much of himself to others.

It was a reminder that the measure of a life is not only in the work we do, but in the respect we earn, the friendships we build, and the difference we make along the way.

This service was especially close to our hearts. Shane was not only someone we had the privilege of caring for professionally, but someone who had been a treasured part of our family. To be part of such an extraordinary farewell was both humbling and deeply moving.

To Shane's Powercor friends and colleagues—thank you. Your presence, your support, and this remarkable gesture spoke more eloquently than words ever could.

For Kelly, funeral care has never just been a profession—it is something she has dedicated her life to with genuine passion and purpose.

Having joined the family business in 1990, Kelly has spent over 35 years guiding families with warmth, empathy and understanding. As a Funeral Celebrant, she is deeply passionate about helping families share the stories that matter—creating farewells that truly reflect the life, personality and legacy of their loved one.

Kelly believes that every person deserves something meaningful. Whether it is a large gathering or a quiet, intimate farewell, she understands that even the simplest goodbye holds real importance—providing a moment to reflect, honour and begin to process loss.

Alongside her work with families, Kelly is also a strong advocate for the funeral profession. Through her involvement with Funerals Australia, including serving as National President from 2023–2025, she has championed education, standards and trust—ensuring families across the country receive the care they deserve.

For Kelly, it remains a privilege to walk alongside families and to continue a proud family legacy of service to the community.

Outside of work, she enjoys reading, travelling, and spending time with her family.

At the heart of our team is Daniel, whose steady leadership and quiet dedication help shape the care we provide every day at T.J. Scott & Son.

As Funeral Operations Manager and Funeral Director, Daniel brings more than 30 years of experience, along with a deeply considered approach to supporting families. He leads by example—taking the time to listen, guiding with care, and ensuring families feel informed and supported throughout the arranging process.

Daniel has a meticulous eye for detail, with a natural ability to bring everything together seamlessly. From the first conversation through to the day of the service, he works thoughtfully behind the scenes to ensure each farewell unfolds with care, respect and a sense of calm.

Continuing a proud family tradition, Daniel is deeply committed to serving the community with integrity and genuine care—values that are reflected in everything he does.

Outside of work, Daniel is a devoted husband and father of three, heavily involved in his children’s activities and a familiar face on the sidelines coaching local soccer—something he truly enjoys.

Daniel’s thoughtful leadership, attention to detail and genuine care for people make him an integral part of our team.

There are very few people who can say they have dedicated a lifetime to caring for their community—John is one of them.

With more than 60 years in the family business, John has played a central role in shaping T.J. Scott & Son into what it is today. Beginning alongside his father, Jack, he has carried forward the values established by his grandfather, Thomas J. Scott—building a business grounded in care, trust and genuine connection.

John’s contribution extends well beyond our local community. His long-standing involvement with Funerals Australia (formerly AFDA), including serving as both Victorian and National President, reflects a deep commitment to strengthening the funeral profession and upholding the highest standards of care.

At the heart of it all, John simply loves the community he serves.

Today, his focus is on his work as a Funeral Celebrant—something he finds deeply meaningful. He values the time spent with families as they plan a service, helping bring together the stories, moments and memories that truly reflect a life.
His approach is experienced, professional and personal—working alongside families to create farewells that feel genuine and considered.

Every so often, someone comes into your team who quietly sets a standard for care, kindness and thoughtfulness—and for us, that is Jordan.

Born and raised in the Macedon Ranges, Jordan has always had a genuine calling to serve others and give back to her community. In her role as Funeral Assistant, she brings a rare combination of empathy, organisation and calm support—guiding families with great care, respect and understanding.

There is no one more thoughtful or considerate of others. Jordan goes above and beyond in everything she does—both in her professional role and in the way she lives her life. She has a natural ability to anticipate what people need, often before they even realise it themselves, and responds with quiet compassion and sincerity.

With a background spanning more than 15 years in marketing, communications and event management, along with two decades in customer service, she brings a depth of experience that allows her to support families in meaningful and practical ways—ensuring each farewell reflects what matters most.

Outside of work, Jordan enjoys gardening, cooking for others, and spending time with family and friends. She is also a passionate animal lover, volunteering her time with rescue organisations and charity groups.

Jordan is someone truly special, and we feel incredibly fortunate to have her as part of our team.

Dianne quietly keeps everything running—an organisational wiz whose care and attention behind the scenes make a real difference to the families we support.
As Funeral Assistant and Pre-Planning Specialist, Dianne brings over 15 years of experience to her role. She is across every detail, ensuring everything is prepared, up to date and running as it should—often before anyone else has even thought to ask.
For many families, Dianne is also the first voice they hear. Her gentle, reassuring manner provides immediate comfort, helping guide people through those first steps with calm clarity and care.
Living in Kilmore, Dianne feels a strong connection to the community she serves and values being part of a family business where care is personal and meaningful.

As our Administration Co-ordinator and preplanning specialist, Peta is truly the backbone of T.J. Scott & Son. Exceptionally organised and across every detail, nothing is ever missed. More importantly, she understands the people behind each arrangement—every family we are privileged to care for.
Often the first voice you will hear when you call us, Peta brings a warmth and reassurance that immediately puts families at ease. She listens deeply, understands what matters, and gently guides and supports—whether someone is arranging a funeral or taking the thoughtful step to plan ahead.
Peta has been part of the community for over 20 years and values being part of a family business where care truly matters. As she so simply puts it, “If we can make grief just a little lighter for someone, then we’ve achieved something meaningful.”
Behind the scenes, she keeps everything moving seamlessly. For families, she is a steady and trusted presence. For our team, she is the glue that holds us all together.
