What is Myotherapy?
Myotherapy is a form of physical therapy that focuses on treating musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. It goes beyond just massage — we assess, treat and help manage conditions affecting muscles, joints, tendons and nerves.
How is it different to other physical therapy?
Remedial Massage
Primarily focuses on hands-on treatment of muscles to relieve tension and pain. Great for maintenance and general muscular tightness.
Physiotherapy
Often focused on injury rehabilitation, post-surgical recovery and broader physical function, often using exercise programs and clinical rehab approaches. Many modern physios seems to have headed down a “hands off” approach focussing solely on exercise prescription.
Myotherapy
Sits in between and overlaps both. We combine advanced hands-on treatment (like deep tissue work, dry needling, cupping and trigger point therapy) with corrective exercises, movement assessment and long-term pain management strategies.
If you’re dealing with persistent tightness, recurring injuries, headaches, back pain or sports niggles — Myotherapy might be exactly what you need.
