Clifford Craig Health Foundation

Clifford Craig Health Foundation The Clifford Craig Health Foundation was established in 1992 by the local community with the founding vision to improve health outcomes for the region.

Based at Launceston General Hospital, the foundation has since developed into a vibrant organisation, which plays a vital role in facilitating quality medical research into the health issues that affect the people within our community. Most importantly, our program is designed to fund medical research that will help attract researchers, higher degree students, and specialist doctors and physicians

to work in our region. Since its inception, the Clifford Craig Foundation has built a quality research centre at the LGH and has committed to provide in excess of $4 million in funding for over 100 worthwhile medical research projects. Our dedicated research team have established a reputation for relevant, practical and innovative research which has truly improved medical understanding and better treatments for many serious illnesses,

We have demonstrated that we can make significant contributions to medical knowledge and with continued community support we can do much more.

Wonderful to connect with members of the North West community last night to share how our expansion into the region will boost access to healthcare through research and additional hospital equipment. Central Coast Combined Services Clubs' annual dinner was hosted by the Lions Club of Ulverstone.

Nigel had the opportunity to catch up with former Foundation board member, Stephen Parry (first picture). Also pictured is Ulverstone Lions Club Treasurer and incoming Secretary, Peter Redman. Thank you for having us along - we are feeling very welcome. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Nigel needs some friends, so please pop over and have a chat to find out how weโ€™ll be helping bring better health and hospital care to the North West. You can find him at this yearโ€™s Tasmanian Rural Health Conference. ๐Ÿฉบ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€โš•๏ธ๐Ÿ‘จโ€โš•๏ธ

Over the last two years, as we expand our health programs into the North West Coast of Tasmania, we have partnered with the Devonport Chamber of Commerce and Industry to be active members in their community programs. This year, as charity partners of the Tasmanian Business Conference, we gathered with local leaders and a broad cross-section of industries operating on the Coast to hone in on the power of connection. With advancing technologies, itโ€™s agreed the challenge is for human connectedness to be enhanced, not further limited.

Connections and discussions were masterfully facilitated by former ABC News Breakfast host, Michael Rowland.

A highlight for us was the practical workshop facilitated by and ~ encouraging big picture design thinking with real time value people living in the North West region. Itโ€™s amazing what ideas can be generated with engaged minds from across industries (real people using local insights and expertise - not an AI bot in sight!)

Vale, Neale Daniher AO. ๐Ÿ’™
As the nation unites to mourn Neale, we reflect on the power of his lasting message shared with us last year. We extend our love, gratitude and support to the Daniher family and who advocate and fundraise so galliantly for MND research - and this yearโ€™s Big Freeze will be like no other; Nealeโ€™s incredible legacy.

Rest in peace, Neale. Thank you for leading the way and for sharing your wisdom during the fight of your life.

๐Ÿฅ Tomorrow is International Clinical Trials Day!
Did you know the Clifford Craig Research & Innovation Centre, launched last year, is home to Northern Tasmania's very own Research Unit (North and North West) and our head office. This purpose-built state-of-the-art facility hosts clinical trials conducted by local researchers, offering patients access to participate in cutting-edge developments and in turn providing important career advancement opportunities for medical professionals in the region. Our mission is to sustain this research through community funding. Your support of our Medical Research Appeal this year goes directly to granting more research projects in 2027.
