Kaleidoscope Expressive Arts

Kaleidoscope Expressive Arts Therapy done differently. Compassion & support paired with art materials & emergent art processes for courageous self expression & re-wilding.

Individual & group support available. Art therapy is using art materials to explore feelings, thoughts and experiences that may be difficult to verbalise. An art therapy process may be something as simple as a squiggle drawn onto paper or a thumbprint pressed into clay.

As an art therapist, sometimes we hold the space for clients to work tiny. It can feel safe. It may provide intense focus. It can feel like the right sized container to hold a big emotion, sensation or moment. It often invites curiosity. Sometimes working tiny may activate a dissonance. There’s no right or wrong response in a therapeutic space, it’s all part of the therapeutic process. How would you respond to the invitation to work tiny?

Difficult questions I’m asking at midlife: where am I quietly quitting myself?
If I knew everyone was going to be ok, what would I do next?
What am I carrying that is not mine?
What am I still not talking about?
What sort of old lady do I want to become?
These questions drive my workshops, because it is significant to not feel completely alone when we have such difficult questions. 🩷
Feel free to message me the difficult question you are wrestling with at this pivotal time of life! Let’s chat.

What colour do acorns dye? Natural materials and gentle processes matter to me as a therapist. Walking lightly on the earth has me incorporate natural dyeing into my life offer it as a soul nourishing workshop. Tech weary? When we force ourselves to stop the scroll our hands can experience emptiness, restlessness & withdrawal, so slow, process-focused art making offers us movement that brings us back into our body and helps breaks the cycle of continual technology input. This stunning warm brown colour from acorns is on Ashford triple knit wool from NZ, 🐑 🤍using no mordants, aluminium pot. Are you ready to realign back to your creative self? Experience the beauty of natural dyeing on yarn and fabrics in my natural dyeing workshop coming soon to Brisbane! Leave a ♥️ to receive the first offer of tickets to this small intimate experience.
