𝓢𝓮𝓵𝓯 𝓬𝓪𝓻𝓮 𝓲𝓼 𝓶𝓮𝓮𝓽𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝔂𝓸𝓾𝓻 𝓸𝔀𝓷 𝓷𝓮𝓮𝓭𝓼

Self care is ultimately about meeting our own emotional, physical and spiritual needs.

It’s sitting with ourselves in times of distress, overwhelm, anxiety or sadness and asking what do I really need in this moment? And then responding accordingly without judgment or criticism!

An example might look like:
Feeling: anxious, stimulated, overwhelmed
Reason: busy week at work, feeling tired, weekend ahead is booked up with multiple plans
What do I need? Rest, some down time alone to veg out, a quieter weekend
Self care: self validation, rearranging or canceling a plan over the weekend, scheduling down time, having plenty of rest

Some ways to meet your needs
- rest
- space
- self soothing
- setting boundaries
- saying no
- self compassion
- take time off or away
- self validation

The more we ignore our own needs (which can be a trauma response and/or learned behaviour) the more likely we are to experience anxiety, depression and burnout.

If you find identifying your emotions difficult or trouble establishing what you need to feel better it may be helpful to seek out a psychologist!

Take care of you this weekend ❤️🦋
