Our menstrual cycle can tell you a lot about what’s happening beneath the surface. Thyroid hormones play a key role in ovulation, hormone balance, and cycle regularity, so changes to your period can sometimes be one of the first signs something is off. If your cycle suddenly changes, it may be worth looking beyond reproductive hormones alone.

Gluten and thyroid health is one of the most talked-about topics in autoimmune medicine, but the reason why is often misunderstood.

One proposed mechanism is something called molecular mimicry, where the immune system mistakes one substance for another because they look structurally similar. In some people, proteins found in gluten may resemble parts of thyroid tissue, potentially contributing to immune system confusion in conditions like Hashimoto's thyroiditis.

This doesn’t mean gluten is harmful for everyone, and it doesn’t mean everyone with thyroid issues needs to go gluten free. But there is a well-established link between thyroid autoimmunity and Celiac disease, which is why this conversation matters.

If you’re dealing with thyroid symptoms alongside bloating, fatigue, skin changes, digestive issues, or nutrient deficiencies, it may be worth exploring further.

Unexplained weight gain + hair loss = one of the most common signs of an underactive thyroid. Yet so many people (especially women) go years without a diagnosis. If this sounds like you, please push for a blood test. You're not imagining it.

The stress piece of fertility is often dismissed. We see women stuck in cycles of over-researching, second-guessing, and feeling like time is constantly slipping away. Supporting the nervous system, creating space, and having the right guidance doesn’t replace medical care, but it changes how you move through the process and that can make a real difference.

Support can look like therapy, acupuncture, nervous system work or simply having someone guide you through the noise. Fertility is a physical process, but it’s also an emotional one.

Many of us were taught to think about fertility only when we're ready to have a baby. But by then, you've skipped the part where you actually had options. talks about this a lot, the best time to look into your fertility is before you're trying.

What that looks like in practice:

Start with a baseline. An AMH test, a basic hormone panel, tracking your cycle for a few months. Nothing dramatic, just information about what your body is doing.

Get honest about the timeline. Fertility doesn't drop off a cliff, but it does decline faster in your late 30s. Knowing where you stand means you're planning ahead.

Use the info to make a decision that's yours. Maybe you start trying sooner than you thought. Maybe you freeze eggs. Maybe you realise you've got time.

If your fertility is something you would like to examine or think about long term book in a discovery call or make an appointment and we can look at all of your options together.

Maternal fatigue is more than just being tired, it’s a deep, ongoing depletion that can impact your hormones, mental health, and ability to recover after pregnancy.

is a degree-qualified Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner, with additional clinical training and research in postnatal and maternal fatigue. Her work is grounded in both lived experience and years of study, including a 5-year apprenticeship in pulse diagnosis and a strong focus on hormonal health, burnout, and nervous system support.

She understands that fatigue in this stage of life isn’t random. It’s often the result of multiple layers, from nutrient depletion and hormonal shifts to stress, sleep disruption and the demands of modern motherhood.

Through acupuncture, herbal medicine, and a highly refined diagnostic approach, Stella works to get to the root of what’s going on, not just mask symptoms.

If you’re experiencing maternal or postnatal fatigue and feel like you’re running on empty, book a discovery call or make an appointment to get the support your need
