Have you ever had an argument over something small… and later realised it wasn’t really about that one thing?
Sometimes a comment, forgotten task, change of plans, or interruption becomes the tipping point because we’re already carrying stress, tiredness, disappointment, responsibilities, or unresolved frustration.
The reaction happens in the moment, but the emotion may have been building long before it.
That’s why it can help to ask yourself: “What is actually underneath my reaction right now?”
Understanding that doesn’t mean ignoring the problem. It can help you communicate what you actually need instead of only reacting to what just happened.
Have you ever realised an argument wasn’t really about the thing that started it? 💜
