It was great to work with coaches, first aiders, and volunteers who are passionate about supporting junior players and prioritising safety. Looking forward to continuing to help keep our kids healthy and playing the sport they love. 💚💙

Putting Player Safety First!

Last night we hosted our “Learn to Tape and Protect Junior Players” session, centred around injury prevention and supporting the wellbeing of our young footballers.

Thank you to everyone who attended — your dedication to learning and improving plays a vital role in creating a safe, positive environment for all players. It’s great to see people committed to developing their knowledge and helping our juniors thrive.

A special thanks to Sam Rayson from My Local Osteo for leading the session. Your expertise and ongoing support of the Traralgon & District Junior Football League makes a real difference in how we care for and protect our players.

Opportunities like this continue to strengthen our clubs and ensure junior football remains safe, enjoyable and inclusive for everyone involved.

🏉 Protecting Our Junior Players 🏉

Last night we held our “Learn to Tape and Protect Junior Players” session, focused on preventative management and protecting our junior players from injury.

Firstly, thank you to everyone who attended. Your commitment to learning and improving is a big step toward ensuring our players are being looked after in a safe and supportive environment. We hope the session provided valuable insight and confidence that you’re heading in the right direction when it comes to protecting and developing our young footballers.

A big thank you to Sam Rayson from My Local Osteo for facilitating the session. Your knowledge and willingness to support the West Gippsland Junior Football Competition is greatly appreciated and plays a huge role in helping us keep our junior players safe.

Sessions like this are an important part of making sure our game continues to be a safe, enjoyable and positive experience for all junior footballers.

WEST GIPPSLAND JUNIOR FOOTBALL COMPETITON | LEARN TO TAPE AND PROTECT JUNIOR PLAYERS

We are offering an opportunity for trainers, first aiders, parents or guardians, and volunteers to attend an educational session on taping, along with a Q&A focused on basic injury prevention and management for our young players.

This session will be led by Dr. Samantha Rayson of My Local Osteo - Leongatha.
Dr. Rayson has approximately seven years of experience as an osteopath and previously served as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. She has also worked locally as a Sports Trainer.

I recently attended a fantastic course with Manual Medicine International, learning from Dr Lisa DeStefano (D.O.) who came all the way from the USA and Dr Jon Marshall (ost). It was all about refining hands-on techniques for assessing and managing sports, overuse, and occupational injuries to limbs.

Excited to apply this knowledge and further tailor treatments to your individual needs! 💪🦵🙌
