Residents from Kensington Grange enjoyed a wonderful day at The Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie, sampling delicious chocolates and learning about how chocolate is made. After a lovely afternoon tea, residents took in the stunning sunset views along the Torquay coastline before heading home. For many, it was a nostalgic trip, with one resident remarking that she had not visited Torquay in over 30 years. It was a wonderful afternoon of sweet treats, treasured memories and great company for everyone involved.

By popular demand, residents from Kensington Grange recently enjoyed a return visit to Wallington Park Equestrian Centre to spend time with their gentle giant friend, Roy. After meeting him on a previous outing, residents were eager to visit again and reconnect with this beautiful horse. It was a wonderful day filled with smiles, memories, and plenty of pats for their special four-legged friend.

Homestyle Kensington Grange was transformed into a spectacular White Night experience.

Thanks to local business Geelong Sound, five projectors illuminated beautiful visuals across every surface, creating a mesmerising light show that had everyone watching in awe.

An incredible way to spend a Friday evening and another wonderful memory made at Kensington Grange. 💙

Shopping Direct To You have visited Homestyle Kensington Grange, bringing a pop-up shopping experience into the home with residents able to browse and purchase new clothes, perfumes, books and more.

It was wonderful to see residents supporting each other as they browsed the goodies on offer, from the fit of cardigans to making sure they found the “perfect colour". The experience provided a meaningful opportunity for residents to enjoy choice, independence and connection within the comfort of their home.

Over the past 14 months, Homestyle Team Members in Geelong Homes have been completing a traineeship in Certificate III Individual Support, further developing their skills and knowledge within the aged care sector.

In partnership with ITFE, team members completed education sessions alongside practical placements, gaining valuable experience while continuing to support residents and enhance the care provided.

A celebration was recently held to recognise the achievements of eleven Homestyle employees who successfully completed their qualification. Congratulations to all graduates on this wonderful achievement!

Year 12 students from Saint Ignatius College Geelong recently visited Homestyle Kensington Grange for a day of games, connection, and intergenerational fun.

Residents and students spent time getting to know one another through a generational quiz, which sparked plenty of conversation and proved that age is merely a number! The afternoon was rounded out with some competitive Carpet Bowls and manicures provided by the students.

Friendships were formed quickly, and the impact of the visit was evident as the students said their goodbyes. What began as a visit ended with genuine connections and new friendships.

The students arrived as visitors and left as friends. 💙

This week at Homestyle Kensington Grange, we had the absolute joy of celebrating Myrle’s incredible 106th birthday! 🎉

Residents came together for a beautiful morning tea in Myrle’s honour, followed by a much-loved barbecue which kept the celebrations going. Myrle was delighted by the celebrations and shared her heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined her on such a memorable day.

Wishing Myrle continued joy, laughter, and many more happy moments ahead!

Sailing into new adventures at Homestyle Kensington Grange!

With the beautiful weather this week another group of residents set off on a scenic journey from Queenscliff to Sorrento.

For many, it was a day of firsts. From taking in the breathtaking views at the Queenscliff lookout for the very first time, to sailing across the bay, whether it was a first trip ever or the first in over 30 years, every moment was filled with wonder. Residents couldn’t hide their excitement, soaking in the views and the thrill of new experiences.

The magic didn’t stop there, with lucky sightings of dolphins and seals along the way, followed by a walk through the interactive “Under the Bay” tunnel, discovering the hidden beauty beneath Port Phillip Bay.

Moments like these are truly special, especially hearing residents say they never imagined they’d still be enjoying new experiences at 95. A day filled with joy, discovery, and memories to treasure. 💙✨
