R U OK? Day is a reminder to check in with the people around you.

A simple “Are you OK?” can open the door to a meaningful conversation. Take a moment to ask, listen and let someone know you’re there.

And remember, you don’t need to wait for R U OK? Day to start the conversation.

This September (7–11), Australia marks Women’s Health Week — Jean Hailes’ annual campaign and the country’s largest week dedicated to women’s health. This year’s theme, “Do it anyway,” is about small, realistic steps: to fuel, to move, to rest, to breathe and to connect. It’s a f...

This Asthma Week (1 - 7 September), together with Asthma Australia, we’re shining a light on women and asthma, and how hormonal changes throughout life, from puberty and pregnancy through to menopause, can affect asthma symptoms and control.

If your asthma symptoms have changed, or you’re finding it harder to keep your asthma under control, talk to your doctor. Together, you can review your symptoms and make sure your asthma management plan is right for you.

It’s National Diabetes Week, a timely reminder to stay alert to the signs of diabetes.

Diabetes can develop gradually, and many people may not realise they have it. Common warning signs include increased thirst, frequent urination, fatigue, blurred vision and slow healing wounds.

Early detection and management can make a real difference to long term health outcomes.

Take a moment to learn more about the signs to look out for and when to speak with your GP:

This NAIDOC Week, we recognise 50 Years of Deadly - honouring the Elders, organisers, artists and communities who have carried NAIDOC forward, and celebrating the strength, culture and leadership of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today and into the future.

The 2026 artwork, Paralpi by Zaachariaha Fielding, speaks to movement, energy and continuity - carrying the stories of Ancestors forward while celebrating the creativity and cultural power of the next generation.

At Ochre Health, we acknowledge the privilege and responsibility of caring for more than 14,500 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients across our network. This week, and every week, we remain committed to listening, learning and working towards culturally safe, high-quality primary care with First Nations communities.

Today we're wearing red to support Bowel Cancer Australia's Annual Giving Day.

Bowel cancer is one of Australia's most diagnosed cancers, but it's also one of the most treatable when found early. As primary care providers across the country, GPs at Ochre see firsthand how much earlier detection can change outcomes.

If you're 45 or over, talk to your GP about bowel cancer screening. It could be one of the simplest things you do for your health this year.

Grab an apple, wear red, and help spread the word.

Today we were proud to welcome Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to the Sunshine Coast to celebrate the launch of the Caloundra Medicare Urgent Care Clinic.

This clinic marks an important national milestone, completing the Australian Government's commitment to establish 50 new Medicare Urgent Care Clinics during the 2025–26 financial year.

From 17 June 2026, local residents and visitors will be able to access fully bulk-billed urgent care for urgent but non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries, with no appointment required – just a Medicare card.

The Caloundra clinic joins a national network that has already cared for more than 1.2 million Australians, helping people receive treatment closer to home while reducing pressure on busy hospital emergency departments.

Located in Little Mountain, the clinic is the first step towards a larger purpose-built Ochre Health Hub and Medicare Urgent Care Clinic planned for Aura, which will provide even greater healthcare services for this rapidly growing region.

A huge thank you to our doctors, nurses, practice teams, partners and Government stakeholders and especially Country to Coast QLD leaders Julie Sturgess CEO, Matthew Schull (Director Integration), and Robb Major (Regional Manager Sunshine Coast) for their professional and community first approach and partnership

The Medicare UCC at Caloundra is funded by Country to Coast Queensland through the Australian Government’s PHN program.
