Logan Hospital We’re the major public healthcare centre for the City of Logan, Queensland.

Logan Hospital is the major health centre for one of the fastest growing regions in the state. We have grown from a 48-bed community hospital in 1990 to a 448-bed hospital today, mirroring the rapid growth in population in the Logan region. We provide acute medical, surgical, rehabilitation, maternity, cardiology, orthopaedics, renal and other specialty services for children and adults. We're the

location of Queensland's largest ever hospital expansion project on an existing hospital site—with a total capital investment of more than one billion dollars. In the coming years, the hospital will increase in size by almost half, with a significant increase in beds and treatment spaces across several new wards and a range of expanded support services.

Meet our Baby of the Week, Makerita Miracle Tanuvasa 💜

This precious little girl has spent more than 100 days in hospital after making her early arrival into the world.

Parents Annrose and Misi are completely smitten with their little girl, who is growing stronger with every feed, cuddle and milestone, and now weighs more than six times her birth weight!

They said they were incredibly grateful for the love and support of their family, as well as the dedicated staff at Logan Hospital and the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, who have cared for and supported them throughout Makerita’s journey.

🏗️ A major milestone for Logan Hospital’s expansion!

We're making great progress on Logan Hospital's newest building. The scaffolding is down, the roof is on and works are progressing to deliver our new Building 4.

Building 4 will include:
✅ An extra 112 beds
✅ New operating theatres
✅ Expanded services, including pharmacy, endoscopy and more

These new facilities will help meet the increasing demand for healthcare in our growing community. They will provide better access to healthcare closer to home for patients and families now and into the future.

Recently they got to wear fun scrubs for the first time, and it was no surprise they chose the same design, just in different colours!

Their colourful outfits were part of Logan Hospital's 'Funky Friday' wellbeing initiative, inviting staff to add a splash of colour and fun to their Friday shifts while helping create a positive environment for everyone at Logan Hospital. 🌈

🎉 Happy first birthday to the Meadowbrook Health Centre Minor Injury and Illness Clinic!

In just 12 months, the clinic has provided high-quality, same-day care to thousands of people across the community, helping ease pressure on Logan Hospital's Emergency Department. 🏥

Over the past year, the team has become a registered immunisation provider, welcomed the Paediatric Rapid Access Clinic, and worked alongside the Emergency Department to improve access to timely care for patients with minor injuries and illnesses. 🩹

Our Children’s Inpatient Unit welcomed a very special visitor today. 🕷️❤️

'Dr Spiderman' took a break from fighting villains to surprise some of our youngest patients with gifts.

Behind the mask is medical student George Mann who is on a mission to make hospital visits a little less scary for children.

"It’s my goal to put a smile on the face of every child I meet, not only to brighten their day, but to help them build a positive relationship with the healthcare system," George said.

James (Jim) Wendt has recently marked 20 years of service with Queensland Health. 👨‍🔧

Jim joined Logan Hospital in 2010 as the hospital’s only carpenter within a small team of fewer than five trades. 🔨

Since then, he has played a key role in supporting the growth of both the hospital and the maintenance team, bringing a wealth of experience and a strong, steady work ethic to everything he does. 💪

Well known for his dad jokes and unmistakable laugh, Jim is a valued and much-loved member of the team who helps keep morale high and the workplace running smoothly.

Congratulations, Jim, on this outstanding milestone and thank you for your ongoing commitment and contribution to Logan Hospital. 🎉
