♦️ Every week, Australia needs around 33,000 blood and plasma donations to keep the health system running. While 1 in 3 Australian's will need blood in their lifetime, only about 1 in 30 currently donates

♦️ Plasma donations are currently the most in-demand type of donation in Australia, utilised in over 18 different medical treatments for patients with cancer, immune deficiencies and burns

♦️ More than 33,000 donations are required every single week

♦️ Whole blood can be donated every 12 weeks, while plasma can be donated as frequently as every 2 weeks

🫁 World Asthma day 05.May.2026

Do you know the Asthma 4-4-4 Rule?

1. Sit the person upright: Keep them calm and sitting upright

2. 4 Puffs: Shake the reliever puffer (e.g., Ventolin) and give 4 separate puffs, one at a time, into a spacer

3. 4 Breaths: Ask the person to take 4 breaths from the spacer after each puff

4. 4 Minutes: Wait 4 minutes

5. Repeat: If there is no improvement, repeat steps 2,3 and 4

6. Call Emergency Services (000 in Australia): If the person still cannot breathe normally, call for an ambulance immediately, continuing to give 4 puffs every 4 minutes until help arrives
