🎡 🎠 WHAT A WONDERFUL DAY OUT AT THE MACKAY SHOW 🌸🐄

Our residents at Good Shepherd Lodge and Kerrisdale Gardens regularly enjoy getting out and about in the community and this latest adventure was one to remember - they had a fantastic day exploring everything the show had to offer.

The beautiful floral displays were a particular favourite and the animal exhibits brought plenty of smiles and conversation throughout the day. For a little extra excitement, a couple of our adventurous residents even took a spin on the teacups!

Residents also had the opportunity to relax in the 500 Pavilion, where they enjoyed a delicious morning tea while taking in a fantastic view across the showgrounds. A special thank you to the wonderful staff in the 500 Pavilion for making everyone feel so welcome and helping make the experience even more enjoyable.

A heartfelt thank you also goes to the kind train driver, who gave us several rides around the showgrounds, helping everyone stay dry and avoid the muddy paths after the rain.

It was a fantastic outing filled with laughter, wonderful memories, and great company. We're already looking forward to our next adventure! 💚

AUSTRALIA’S BIGGEST MORNING TEA AT KERRISDALE GARDENS AND GOOD SHEPHERD LODGE 💙☕💛

What a wonderful day we shared at Australia's Biggest Morning Tea!

Residents, families, volunteers and staff came together to enjoy a delicious morning tea, great conversation, and each other's company, all while supporting a cause that touches so many lives.

A special thank you to our talented catering team for preparing a fantastic spread and to the families and supporters whose generous contributions helped create such a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone involved, we proudly raised a combined total of $1,206.35 for the Cancer Council, exceeding our fundraising goals. These funds will help support vital cancer research, prevention programs, advocacy and support services for those affected by cancer.

Thank you to everyone who attended, donated, baked, volunteered and helped make the day such a success. Your kindness and community spirit truly reflect the heart of Good Shepherd Lodge and Kerrisdale Gardens.

GENEROSITY THAT MAKES A DIFFERENCE

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Macrossan and Amiet Charitable Foundation for their generous donation to our aged care community.

Thanks to your support, we have been able to purchase new recliners for our Memory Care Unit at Good Shepherd Lodge, providing additional comfort and support for our residents. These chairs will make a meaningful difference in creating a calm, relaxing and homely environment for those in our care.

Your kindness and generosity are truly appreciated by our residents, families and staff. Thank you for helping us continue to enhance the wellbeing and comfort of our community. 💙

🍀 A SHAMROCK-FILLED ST. PATRICK’S DAY CELEBRATION🍀

Residents, families and staff at Good Shepherd Lodge and Kerrisdale Gardens had a fantastic St. Patrick’s Day!

Laughter filled the room with Irish carpet bowls, festive photo booth fun, and tasty treats like traditional stew and apple crumble. Leprechaun names added a cheeky sprinkle of mischief to the day!

A BRIGHT START TO THE LUNAR NEW YEAR

Residents at Good Shepherd Lodge welcomed the Lunar New Year with a colourful celebration inspired by traditions from China and Japan, complete with a stunning lantern parade.

There were lots of smiles and laughter as everyone discovered their Chinese zodiac signs and learned about the three gods — Fu, Lu and Shou — symbolising happiness and good fortune, prosperity and success, and longevity. The afternoon was filled with fun, connection, and a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere.

The festivities concluded with refreshments and a delicious Chinese-inspired afternoon tea, creating a joyful and culturally rich experience for all who attended.

OUT AND ABOUT WITH OUR INDEPENDENT LIVING RESIDENTS

Our independent living residents from Kerrisdale Gardens recently visited Zarby’s Café at Mt Ossa Rural, a vibrant 1950s-style diner with great food, classic milk bar décor and an awesome atmosphere.

It was a great day out with friends - sharing stories and soaking up the retro vibes.

If you’re looking for a great spot, treat yourself and take the time to visit — it’s well worth it!

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY❤️

Our creative residents at Good Shepherd Lodge have been busy crafting and preparing a beautiful love balloon for today’s display in Dalrymple Way 💕🎈

A special shoutout to our wonderful Leisure and Lifestyle team for putting together a fabulous Valentine’s photo booth! We’ve captured so many heartwarming photos of our residents and staff celebrating the day together.

We were delighted to see Mrs Snell stop by for a photo with our ever-cheerful Stuart, a truly special moment! Even the maintenance team downed their tools long enough to jump into the photo booth, proving they’re just as good at striking a pose as they are at fixing things! 😉

It’s been a day filled with smiles, laughter, and lots of love! 💗

OUT AND ABOUT – A LOVELY DAY IN NATURE

Residents from Kerrisdale Gardens enjoyed a lovely bus trip to Queens Park recently, one of the many outings they frequently enjoy.

After the rain, the park was lush and vibrant with bursts of colourful flowers adding a cheerful touch. A gentle stroll, fresh air, and great company made for smiles all around.

Outings like this are just one of the many ways our residents enjoy making happy memories together!
