ICE after injury ?

Attention trainers!!

> Get familiar with the research

So for now, based on the current research, I’d keep ice in the freezer for the most part. As we currently understand it, ice is less important than we once thought. The exception to this rule would be when injuries are severe and in circumstances where swelling will likely be the limiting factor for recovery. In these cases, ice may be beneficial in the early stages only.

Applying ice to injuries used to be a no brainer. New research proves maybe we were wrong. Find out the truth and why, backed by science.

What are your shoes doing to you?

What are your shoes doing to you?

Your toes are designed to spread out. This is how your foot looked when you were born. This toe splay allows the foot to turn into a strong structure & provide stability for the entire body. Unfortunately weightlifting shoes smash our toes together into an unnatural narrow position. Why is this? It’s because the companies that make these shoes design them more for fashion than function. The shoe should allow the foot to function as it was designed, not mold it to an unnatural position.
Don’t believe me? Check out my YouTube video “How to build strong healthy feet” and try the test I show.
What’s the solution? At this time there are NO a truly wide toe box weightlifting shoes. Sure some are wider than others, and some people with very slender feet maybe fine, but for MOST every single weightlifting shoe on the market is WAY TOO NARROW. So, you save your weightlifting shoes for cleans, snatches & squats (if needed) & you work as much as possible to undo the harmful effects of these shoes the other hours of the day. Try to train barefoot as often as possible &/or wear shoes that allow your foot to function as they were designed. One day, we will eventually have a wide toe box weightlifting shoe - I’m sure of it.😉
