♡What I Had To Walk Away From♡
This AI created image is a little tongue in cheek and a whole lot of truth.
**Full disclosure this is a long read, though I didnt want to do myself a disservice by dissecting it. Long is not a popular choice on this platform but if you are here for it.... I thank you 🩷
12 months ago I walked away.
I walked away from my business.
My spiritual community, a good chunk of social media.
Any in many ways parts of myself.
There was many things happening internally and externally. My projected belief of spirituality was a life lived softly, in flow and peacefully.
Mine has pockets of softness and deep stillness, but it is also messy, chaotic, busy and full.
So I must doing it wrong, right?
My life was full of raising a family, parenting, working a separate job, relationships, responsibilities and all the beautiful unpredictability that comes with being deeply connected to other people.
I began to resent this part of myself, I judged it and I turned my back on it.
I searched for security and certainty, something I could hold on to.
And then I let everything fall away.
When I did, everything I had been carrying seemed to land right at my feet.
I had no choice but to look.
Look at was mine.
What wasn't.
What I was resisting.
What I wasn't accepting.
What I was projecting.
What I had been taught to believe.
Turning 50 became a new threshold, a new chapter.
Stability doesnt come from a life where nothing moves.
Certainty doesnt come from knowing what happens next.
Slowly I became grounded in a way that feels different now.
Not rigid, and not certain in every outcome, but solid in what is true for me.
When I looked again at what had fallen away I realised the essential part of me remained.
The part that feels deeply,
The part that listens,
The part that knows,
The part that wants to sit in circle, to share, to guide, to connect.
I couldn't turn her off
I didnt need to.
She simply needed to become mine again.
Because spirituality isnt always a perfectly curated life.
It IS motherhood
It IS mess
It IS grief
It IS chaos
It IS boundaries
It IS joy
It is responsibilities
In the quiet moments I have to carve rather than wait for them to arrive.
So I return differently, not because I have it all figured out.
But because I trust myself to move forward without needing to.
From here, whatever comes next, I am ready to meet.
Not perfectly, nor softly all the time but fully and honestly.
I hope you will join me 🤍
