‘Leading with Purpose’ is the artworks title created by Joedie Lawler - Natawa winmara Galbaan of Biripigal.
This painting represents past present and future. As leaders for change, when we lead with purpose we are united by a common cause and that is to sustain a future for the generations yet to be born. Our strength is when we unite in our culture and our identity and come together as one people to effect change. The white and blue circle represents the guidance of our ancestors in all that we are and all that we do. The red path representing earth and the journey covered so far and the ones to come. Surrounded by water the blood of mother earth and the fluid that sustains us. Without water we would all die. The red and blue circles represent the nations of the saltwater – coastal mob; the fire the mountain mob and the freshwater/ red dirt mob of the plains. The u shapes all the people of past present and future coming together to effect change. The greatest changes for our people have been created when we walk as one.
The AbSec Conference has now begun and we are excited to be a part of it as an ACCO, advocates and carers.
